2023: Son abduction
On May 18, 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia reported that the 21-year-old son of the founder and general director of the Gemotest laboratory network Rudem Gaziev Akim, who disappeared a few days earlier, was found alive in a rented apartment in the Vladimir region.

The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said that the attackers "with the help of psychological techniques" entered into confidence in the young man, as they knew some information about his family. They convinced him to take out several large loans and transfer the money received to their accounts, and then, using blackmail, forced him to leave Moscow.
At the direction of these people, the young man left his car in Pushkin (Moscow region), threw away his phone and took a taxi to the Vladimir region, where he was later found, the Ministry of Internal Affairs said. In the city of Gorokhovets (Vladimir region), he lived in an apartment rented by the kidnappers and thought that "thereby saves his family," while the attackers extorted $1 million from his parents.
A criminal case was initiated under article 126 ("kidnapping," up to 15 years in prison) and article 163 ("extortion," also up to 15 years in prison) of the Criminal Code, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
On May 12, 2023, the Telegram channel Shot announced the abduction of Gaziev's son. According to him, on May 10, 2023, 21-year-old Akim Gaziev was seen at a university class, and the next day Rudem Gaziev received a message about the abduction. After that, the founder of Gemotest turned to law enforcement agencies.[1]
