Biography

Andrey graduated from the Higher School of Business, Arts and Technology RISEBA in Riga. For 7 years he worked as a system administrator at Lattelecom Technology, one of the first IT companies in the Baltic States. In the company, Andrei proposed and launched a commercial service for providing virtual servers.

In 2008, Andrei joined as the lead system administrator to the team of the Latvian social network ONE.LV. The project had about one million registered users and 150,000 unique users per day. In 2010, he moved to Odnoklassniki as the leading system administrator. After that, he headed the system administration department and the Platform team developing the portal kernel. Until recently, he performed the tasks of the Deputy Technical Director and was responsible for IT security, administration, development of the technical platform and API.

Andrey participated in all the serious technical projects of Odnoklassniki. Andrey is an expert in the administration of high-load fault-tolerant systems. Under his leadership, the infrastructure grew to 8,500 north, systems and data were distributed among three data centers, an accident testing system, a portal monitoring system (2.7 million metrics are monitored), as well as a forecasting system for equipment purchases, etc.

2017: Technical Director of Odnoklassniki

In March 2017, Andrei Guba, who previously served as deputy technical director, became the CTO of the Odnoklassniki social network. Andrey Guba is responsible for development, including providing technologies and forming a development team, and for operation.

Much of the software, including databases, was developed within the OK team. As of March 2017, Odnoklassniki's external traffic was 1.3 TB/s, the number of users - 71 million per month.
