Biography

Kaplunov Pavel Grigorievich was born in 1960 in Moscow.

In 1982 he graduated with honors from the Moscow Electrotechnical Institute of Communications.

In 1985 he defended his thesis.

From 1986 to 1991 he worked as a researcher at the Central Research Institute of Communications.

From 1991 to 1996 he was the technical and executive director of a number of companies developing and producing equipment for digital communication systems.

From 1996 to 2002 - General Director of RTK-Leasing. During this time, RTK-Leasing from scratch became the largest leasing company in the country. The total volume of investments raised to finance telecommunications projects exceeded $800 million. Under the leadership of P.G. Kaplunov, a number of major investment projects and M&A transactions in the field of communications and IT were implemented, including:

• a project to create one of the leading Russian Internet providers - OJSC RTCom,
• a project for the acquisition and consolidation by the company RTDC of majority packages of a number of mobile companies, a project for the creation of a wireless broadband access operator - Start Telecom"," transactions for the sale of companies "Comet," Zebra Telecom"," "ADS," etc.

In 2014, he served as chairman of the board of directors of the SafeData Group of Companies.

As of January 2015, Pavel Kaplunov was one of the owners of the Cypriot Brennen Investments Ltd, owned, according to the Kommersant newspaper, by five Russian citizens (the name of another of them was officially known - this is the commercial director of the SafeData Mikhail Margolin; he and Kaplunov each had about 15% of the shares). According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, the Cypriot offshore at that time controlled 100% of the Data Storage Center (SafeData): 5.4% directly and 94.6% through Moscow LLC TSKD Invest.

As of October 2016, Kaplunov P.G. was the general director of GK SafeData.

During his work, Pavel Kaplunov made a great contribution to the development of the RTK-data center group as a vertically integrated IT company, a player in the markets of data centers and cloud solutions, CDN and traffic exchange points.
