2022: Arrest and charge of embezzlement of 12 billion rubles from depositors
The Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested in absentia the former head of the Joint Stock Commercial Bank (AKB) Strategy Kirill Drugov, who went bankrupt and deprived of his license in 2016. This became known on July 8, 2022.
The former banker was charged under Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (embezzlement on an especially large scale). By July 8, 2022, the ex-head of the Strategy Battery is abroad, the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation believes. A preventive measure will be chosen from the moment of his extradition or voluntary return.
According to Kommersant, Kirill Drugov, along with a number of other persons who controlled the bank, hiding abroad, he is accused of embezzling multibillion-dollar amounts of a credit institution, which owes depositors almost 12 billion rubles. Some of his accomplices have already been convicted and are serving sentences. So. The Khamovnichesky District Court of Moscow sentenced Alexander Milovzorov, chairman of the Strategy credit committee, to four years, who was recognized as an accomplice in the theft (part 5 of article 33 and part 4 of article 160 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) from the bank 10.5 billion rubles.
In addition to Strategy, Credit-Moscow, Smartbank, Promregionbank and a number of others suffered from their actions. According to the newspaper's sources, law enforcement officers consider the former deputy head of the banking regulation and supervision department of the Central Bank Dmitry Rubinov, whose wife Irina was listed as the owner of Strategy, as the organizer of the scams at Strategy Bank and other banks. Rubinov worked at the Central Bank until 2011, and all this time, according to the investigation, he was simultaneously a beneficiary of the commercial banks Taatta, Strategy, etc.[1]
