2026: Appointment as CEO of City Restaurants

On February 2, 2026, Natela Klimova became the CEO of the City Restaurants fast food company (Rostic's franchisee). Previously, she held the position of top manager of Monex Trading, which developed the Mothercare network in Russia. Natela Klimova replaced Anastasia Yakhtancidi, the owner of the company, who had led the business since 2006, as general director of City Restaurants.

City Restaurants operates more than 70 fast food restaurants in Russia under the Rostic's brand. Inna Golfand, an expert on retail business and consumer markets, connects the appointment of a new head with a new stage in the company's development after the completion of a large-scale rebranding of KFC establishments at Rostic's. Inna Golfand explained that after such operational changes, the focus of management's attention often shifts from anti-crisis tasks to scaling the business, improving efficiency and working with a franchise model.

The management changes at Rostic's come amid the transformation of the catering market. Oleg Wojciechowski, founder of the Russian Council of Shopping Centers, points out that the balance of power has shifted in favor of the ready-made food segment, which requires players to adapt business models and change relations with partners.

High competition makes the catering market attractive for professional managers, but at the same time leads to a frequent change of top managers. For example, in 2025, the former head of another major Rostic's franchisee, A.K. Rush, Alexei Chizhov, became the CEO of the Coffee Like network. Experts interviewed by Kommersant explain this trend by the growing requirements for operational efficiency and cost control in the context of managing a distributed network of establishments.[1]
