Lavrenko Victor is the founder and president of the search engine Nigma.ru.

Education

Born on August 10, 1976 in the city of Istra, Moscow Region in a family of defense engineers.

From 1983 to 1993. studied at Istra school No. 1 named after A.P. Chekhov. Even in his school years, Victor was fond of astronomy, chemistry, photography and, of course, computer science. In the 11th grade, Viktor Lavrenko became the winner of the regional Olympiad in computer science among schoolchildren.

In 1993, Lavrenko entered the Lomonosov Moscow State University at the faculty of VMiK. While studying at the university, Victor worked at several jobs, but this did not prevent him from doing scientific work, so during the study there were several publications on the topic of genetic algorithms. In 1998, Victor graduated from the university with honors, the name of the thesis "Large-block parallelization of computational problems using genetic algorithms."

1998-2000 - became a graduate student, Lomonosov Moscow State University, passed the exams of the candidate minimum, the dissertation has not yet been defended - he is currently engaged in this.

However, after graduation, Viktor Lavrenko does not forget about Moscow State University and since 2003, having organized a charitable foundation, he proposed to provide targeted support - directly to VMiK students, and also began to buy some equipment for the faculty and his department. According to Lavrenko: "The idea was mine, the goal is that when I studied at Moscow State University, I had to work three jobs to feed myself. Accordingly, I decided to help students so that they could devote more time to their scientific work. " In addition, the foundation supported research in the study of the intelligence of mammals (mice and rats), their interaction with robots. But the support was short-lived, as the student who conducted these studies is now fully engaged in the project Nigma.ru.

Career

After graduation, Lavrenko worked in various organizations - all of them were associated with computer science, programming:

1997-1999 - company MCST"" (successor of Moscow Center SPARC Technologies LLP), which develops universal high-performance Russian microprocessors and computer systems - the position of a programmer.

1999 - Netscape is a leading programmer.

From 1999 to 2005, Victor worked for Mail.ru and successfully went from technical director to vice president of strategy and finance.

2005: Search engine launch Nigma.ru

2011: Search engine launch in Vietnam

Since April 2011, a test version of the itim.vn search engine has been operating in Vietnam (developed by the company of Nigma.ru creator Viktor Lavrenko); the full version should launch in the fall of 2011.

The Vietnamese market is underfunded, there are few local projects and there is a chance to create a Vietnamese analogue of Yandex (which Nigma is just trying to do) or Ozon (which Boguslavsky seems to be trying to do), Lavrenko agrees.
