Biography

Evgeny Grigorievich Novitsky was born in 1957 in the Tomsk region.

1980-1987: Baumanka

In 1985 he graduated from MVTU named after Bauman.

In 1985-1987 Mr. Novitsky worked as a mathematical engineer at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, and in 1987-1990. studied at the graduate school of MVTU, participating in scientific and technical projects related to the defense industry.

In 1989-1990 studied management at MGIMO and Manchester Business School (The University of Manchester, Britain).

1991-1995: Head of the Kvant plant

In 1991-95. he led the creation and production of a series of domestic computers, as well as the organization of the assembly of IBM computers at the Kvant plant (Zelenograd), participated in a conversion project for the peaceful use of a modified missile carrier based on the SS-20 military complex. Mr. Novitsky was Chairman of the Board of Directors of IVK, a Russian information technology company. He is the author of a monograph and a number of publications, is a member of the board of trustees of the Moscow State Technical University named after Bauman.

1995: AFK Sistema and others

In 1995, after Novitsky joined AFK Sistema, a long corporate conflict began between this corporation and IVK around Kvant: after a series of assaults "with bits," the plant moved to Sistema.

Until January 2005, Novitsky was the president of Sistema.

From January 2005 to February 2006, Mr. Novitsky served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of AFK Sistema, and from February 2006 as a member of the Board of Directors.

Since June 2010, E. Novitsky is an independent director on the Board of Directors of AFK Sistema.

Also in 2013, Novitsky was elected Deputy Chairman, and in 2015 - Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Radio Frequency Information Systems Concern (JSC RTI Group Systems) is a high-tech company that develops and manages complex innovative projects of a federal scale in the field of monitoring and reporting the situation, ensuring awareness of the country's leadership, regions and departments regarding the situation in real time, supporting management decisions in conditions of war or emergency.

RTI Group, Novitsky oversees innovative projects in the field of information security, manages projects to develop an innovative algorithm for the production of cryptocurrencies and the formation of an ecosystem within the framework of fintech.

As chairman of the Foundation for the Promotion of Scientific and Technological Progress at the Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Novitsky is working to educate new generations of the engineering elite of Russia, promote scientific and technical progress and develop engineering activities in the Russian Federation. For many years, Novitsky has sponsored the participation of young Russian engineers in the best international competitions.

2024: Detention

On June 20, 2024, it became known that Yevgeny Novitsky was detained by Moscow in connection with the "investigation of a criminal case of an economic nature." According to available information, we are talking about fraud.

According to TASS, Novitsky was detained in the evening in his house. Before that, the operatives inspected his home. The procedural status of the ex-president of AFK Sistema as of the specified date is not specified. It is known that the Ministry of Internal Affairs is engaged in a criminal case.

The detention is connected with the investigation of a criminal case of an economic nature. Businessman Novitsky is suspected of part 4. Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on an especially large scale). The criminal case is being investigated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, TASS reports, citing information received from law enforcement officials.

Novitsky under this article may face punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to ten years with a fine of up to 1 million rubles or in the amount of the convict's salary or other income for a period of up to three years or without one and with restriction of freedom for up to two years or without one. According to the source of RBC, the name of Novitsky appeared in the case file of the previously arrested ex-owner of Transfin-M Alexei Tycher. The latter in 2012, in partnership with AFK Sistema, acquired the railway operator SG-trans. Tycher is a defendant in a criminal case of particularly large-scale fraud: according to investigators, in 2017, thanks to several fictitious loan transactions in which Transfin-M PJSC participated, more than 700 million rubles were stolen[1]

Family

Evgeny Novitsky raises 6 children who are actively involved in their social activities. He is a wonderful family man, a loving father, son and brother (Eugene himself has 3 brothers and 3 sisters).
