Biography

In 2004, Andrey Protopopov graduated from Novosibirsk State University with a master's degree in Mathematics.

He worked for Procter & Gamble for 12 years, holding various positions in market strategy and planning, as well as business development.

Acquisition of Russian Qiwi assets consolidated under Kiwi JSC

On January 19, 2024, Qiwi informed TAdviser of the completion of the restructuring and plans to repurchase the shares. As part of the business restructuring, Qiwi plc sells to management Russian business consolidated under Kiwi JSC. The buyer of Russian assets is the Hong Kong company Fusion Factor Fintech Limited, which is owned by Andrei Protopopov, now the chief executive officer of Qiwi plc. Stepping down as head of Qiwi plc. Qiwi Business Management in Russia

As of January 30, 2024, Andrei Protopopov continues to lead the Qiwi business in Russia.

After registering the sale of Russian assets consolidated under Kiwi JSC to Fusion Factor Fintech Limited, owned by Andrey Protopopov, he left the Board of Directors and the position of Chief Executive Officer of Qiwi plc. In this post, he was replaced by Alexey Maschenkov, who since November 2021 worked as the financial director of Qiwi.
