Biography

Potapov Sergey Alexandrovich (b. April 19, 1951, the village of Bolshoi Oryol, Borsky District, Gorky Region) - Russian politician, deputy of the State Duma of the second convocation, deputy of the State Duma of the third convocation, deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Candidate of Sociological Sciences.

1995: State Duma Deputy

December 17, 1995 was elected to the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the second convocation (according to the list of the Communist Party). He was a member of the Communist Party faction.

December 19, 1999 was elected to the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the third convocation (according to the list of the Communist Party). He was a member of the Communist Party faction.

On December 7, 2003, he ran for deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the fourth convocation (according to the list of the Communist Party - No. 2 of the Old Russian Group). Didn't pass.

In July 2004, together with a group of party associates, he tried to remove G. A. Zyuganov from the post of head of the Communist Party. The attempt failed. Left the Communist Party.

In September 2004, he became one of the main organizers of the All-Russian Communist Party of the Future (VKPB). Elected the vice-chairman of the politburo of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks, the First secretary of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks.
