Ilya Vasilyevich Shestakov was born on July 15, 1978 in Leningrad.

In 2000 graduated from Saint Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance.

Candidate of Economic Sciences.

In 2009 - the Russian academy of public service under the President of the Russian Federation.

Till 2001 substituted positions in the commercial organizations.

From 2001 to 2008 - the deputy head of department of the credits of JSC Gazprom.

2009: CEO of JSC Russian Research Institute of Agricultural Devices

From 2009 to 2010 - the CEO of JSC Russian Research Institute of Agricultural Devices.

From 2010 to 2014 - the associate director of Department of food, processing industry, regulation of the agrofood market and product quality, the director of the department of regulation of the agrofood market and development of infrastructure, the deputy minister of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

On January 17, 2014 it is appointed to the position of the Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation - the head of Federal Agency for Fishery.
