Biography
He graduated from the State Engineering University of Armenia.
He also studied at the University of Bradford (UK).
For many years he carried out scientific and teaching activities at the State Engineering University of Armenia.
For several years he served as trade representative (attaché) of the Republic of Armenia in the European Union.
Since August 2019, Varos Simonyan served as Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia.
2021: Minister for Domestic Markets, Informatization, ICT of the ECE
By the decision of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, Varos Harutyunovich Simonyan was appointed to the post of Member of the Board (Minister) for Internal Markets, Informatization, Information and Communication Technologies of the Eurasian Economic Commission. The decision was made on the basis of a proposal from the Republic of Armenia. This was reported by the ECE to TAdviser on November 24, 2021.
As Minister for Internal Markets, Informatization and ICT, Varos Simonyan replaced Hegam Vardanyan, who has worked in this position since February 2020 and resigned of his own free will.
The appointed EEC Minister has extensive experience in public administration and international cooperation. During his professional activity, his competence included issues of Eurasian economic integration, as well as foreign economic cooperation.
