Volkov Vladimir Dmitrievich

Volkov Vladimir Dmitrievich is a Governor of Mordovia. The former Prime Minister of the Republic of Mordovia (from 1995 to 2012).

Biography

Arakcheevo of Krasnoslobodsky district Mordovian was born on September 7, 1954 in the village New the ASSR.

Education

1976 - graduated from faculty of industrial electronics of the Mordovian state university of N.P. Ogarev as "An engineer of the electronic equipment".

1988 - graduated from faculty of industrial and civil engineering of the Mordovian state university of N.P. Ogarev "Civil engineer".

Career

1976 - the instructor of the headquarters of student's construction crews of the Mordovian regional committee of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League.

1977 - For 1979 - worked as the secretary of committee of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League of the Mordovian state university of N.P. Ogarev.

1979 - it is appointed to a position of the commander of regional student's group of the Mordovian regional committee of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League.

1983 - 1986 - the first secretary of the Saransk city town committee of the All-Union Leninist Young Communist League.

1986 - 1988 - the manager of industrial and transport department of the Saransk city town committee of the CPSU.

1988 - For 1990 - worked as the first secretary of the Proletarian district committee of the CPSU of the city of Saransk.

1990 - 1995 - the chairman of the permanent Commission of the Supreme Council of the Republic of Mordovia concerning capital construction, the industry and construction materials.

1995 - worked as the vice-chairman of the State Meeting of the Republic of Mordovia (at the same time Nikolay Merkushkin was appointed the chairman), in September it was appointed the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mordovia.

1995 - the deputy, the vice speaker of the State Meeting of the Republic of Mordovia.

2012: Governor of Mordovia

On May 10, 2012 - after resignation of the head of the republic Nikolay Merkushkin (transferred to work to the Samara region), the decree of the President Russia Vladimir Putin, it is appointed performing duties of the Governor of Mordovia.

In the first interview on a post of the acting as the head of the region, Vladimir Volkov declared the desire to continue a course towards further development of the republic:

"The course towards further development of the republic will be continued. Today in Mordovia the work mechanism is debugged, the management system which accurately functions is built. When the successful head who created all this leaves it is big loss, but we should continue this work. To me those problems which need to be decided therefore we will work on them are well-known. As for the main objectives, they were already planned both in economy, and in the social sphere, and in those questions which are connected with strengthening of image of Mordovia in the world and in Russia..."

May 12, 2012 - The President of Russia Vladimir Putin submitted Vladimir Volkov's candidacy on a post of the head of the Republic of Mordovia for consideration in the State Meeting of the Republic of Mordovia.

May 14, 2012 - The state Meeting of the Republic of Mordovia approved Vladimir Volkov on a post of the head of the Republic of Mordovia^[1].

From April 12 to September 18, 2017 - the acting as the Governor of Mordovia.

Since September 19, 2017 - the Governor of Mordovia.

Academician of the International academy of informatization.

The member of council of interregional "Association of the innovation regions of Russia" created on May 21, 2010 in Tomsk during the XIII Innovation^[2].

Public activity

On August 24, 2012 - took part in festive clearing of the brand in honor of the 1000 anniversary of a unification of the Mordovian people with the people of the Russian state. The Russian Post organized release of the unique stamp devoted to a solemn event which memorable clearing with a special festive stamp took place in the capital of Mordovia^[3].

On November 16, 2012 - participated in the republican student's forum devoted to the International Students' Day^[4].

On December 7, 2012 - took part in work of the IV international innovation nanotechnology forum "NANOTECH-2012" which took place in Kazan^[5].

December, 2012 -^[6] came to congratulate Insar's inhabitants on opening of the Ice arena^[6].

February, 2013 - participated in a grand opening of new production lines at the enterprise of Kristall-Lefortovo company^[7].

March, 2013 - participated in the solemn meeting devoted to Day of the cultural worker^[8].

On March 19, 2013 - attended a traditional exhibition of agricultural machinery and stock which took place based on JSC Atemarskaya Poultry Farm within preparation for the forthcoming spring field works^[9].

Interesting Facts

On January 06, 2013 - said that the French actor Gerard Depardieu who obtained the Russian citizenship can take the place of the Minister of Culture of the republic vacant now^[10].

Also said that it is ready to build to it the house in any place of the capital of Mordovia^[11].

Awards

August 5, 2011 - The decree of the Russian President state Russian Federation"About Rewarding with Awards" for a big contribution to social and economic development of the republic and long-term fair work it is awarded with an order "For Merit to the Fatherland" 4th Class.

2012 - it is awarded with the Order of Holy Prince Daniel of Moscow 1 class (ROC)^[12].

It is awarded with an Order of the Badge of Honour.

Is fond of gardening and truck farming.
