2024: Product Announcement
On March 20, 2024, X5 Group announced the creation of its own warehouse management system. It was named Nexus WMS (Warehouse Management System). Previously, the retailer used the Manhattan platform.
The system is aimed at automation of folding processes. According to X5, the company has already begun industrial implementation of the system. Nexus WMS is a software solution for managing warehouse operations from the moment goods arrive at the distribution center (RC) until they leave it. Thus, the company completely imported the management system after foreign vendors left the Russian market. The developer of the system was X5 Tech, which is part of the group.
Today's realities will inevitably push us to robotize in the field of warehouse operations. Now we have a base to make a leap in this area. We look with great interest at the opportunities that robotics opens up for us today and in the medium term. Nexus WMS Kh5 is a necessary and very timely step in this direction - commented on the development of Managing Director of X5 Technologies Anton Mironenkov. |
WMS helps to improve the efficiency of warehouse processes and ensure the transparency of the movement of goods at all stages. In addition, it is planned to save time for warehouse personnel and reduce the number of errors due to the human factor by reducing the number of operations. Also, the new system lays the foundation for the subsequent robotization and automation of X5 warehouses.
The operations subordinate to the new system currently include: acceptance of goods, voice equipment, internal routing management and reservation, loading of vehicles, working with documents of receipts and shipments. Now 85% of the company's operations are subordinate to the new system.
By March 2024, the system was introduced at four distribution centers of the Pyaterochka trading network in Obninsk, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar and Omsk, as well as at one RC of the Perekrestok trading network in Voronezh.[1]
