2020: Opening of the station of fast charging of electric vehicles of the Terra series in Moscow

On September 9, 2020 the ABB company reported that it opened the station of fast charging of electric vehicles of the Terra series near BC iCUBE in Moscow in which head office AVV in Russia is located. Similar stations already load electric vehicles in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Perm, Tyumen, Krasnoyarsk, Abakan, Blagoveshchensk, Khabarovsk.

According to the company, Terra charging sets from AVV provide "refueling" electric vehicles of different producers thanks to the universal connectors CHAdeMO, CCS2 for fast charging on a direct current and Type 2 on alternating current. Charging stations of ABB are capable to load electric vehicles for passing of 100 km for the period from 4 (Terra High Power charger) up to 25 minutes (Terra 54) depending on modification. Terra charging sets are protected from severe weather conditions and are capable to ensure smooth operation in the temperature range from-35 to +55 °C that provides safe operation in any point of the country. Management, monitoring and also software updating of stations and service diagnostics can be performed far off, thanks to the built-in communication opportunities and digital solutions of ABB on the basis of the ABB Ability platform.

For Moscow development of electrotransport infrastructure is a strategic task which solution will allow to increase attention of citizens to electric vehicles and eco-friendly transport. In 2019 capital owners of electric vehicles were exempted from a transport tax. In plans of Moscow Department of Transport to increase quantity city a zaryadok for electric vehicles by 5 times by 2023. For September, 2020 Moscow takes the third place by the number of the electric transport among the subjects of the Russian Federation, the leader is Primorsky Krai.
