2019: Release of the quadruped ANYmal C robot by ANYbotics company
In August, 2019 the Swiss company ANYbotics put on the market the quadruped ANYmal C robot who is held for use at the enterprises.
Innovation is capable to carry out bypasses and inspections of the equipment regarding faults. One of examples — survey of industrial facilities for search of a gas leak.
The robot weighs 50 kg and is capable to transfer a load to 10 kg. It can gather speed to 1 m/s, move on an oblique surface with a bias to 20 degrees and on ladders with a bias to 45 degrees thanks to powerful drives with a regulated torsional moment. Affirms that the robot is capable to maintain strong loadings during one million cycles.
Developers say to two working hours of devices without recharge. When it is required to fill a charge of rechargeable batteries, the robot independently returns to a charging station. 6-core is the hardware basis for the solution processor Intel Core i7.
ANYbotics pays attention that the version of ANYmal, completely ready to commercial operation, is released. It differs from earlier shown prototypes in the strong body which has protection against dust and water according to IP67 standard.
One more innovation is connected with navigation sensors which allow the robot to be guided in space and not to face from an obstacle in a route. Numerous sensors and also a lidar are for this purpose provided (it is located on top) and depth cameras (from each party). Two additional cameras which transfer the image to command center are still mounted.
By the end of August, 2019 of ANYbotics does not disclose ANYmal C cost, but allows to issue the order for acquisition of a product. The first buyers will receive the robot until the end of 2019, reported on the website of the producer.[1]
