In the middle of October, 2019 the video hosting of YouTube started service of augmented reality AR Beauty Try-On for fitting of cosmetics from advertisements of YouTube Masthead and TrueView using tools. Innovation allows users to test virtually a make-up using the front camera of the smartphone and to try on cosmetics which is shown by byyuti-bloggers in advertizing filmlets of cosmetic brands.

YouTube stated that using this function cosmetic brands will be able to offer realistic, virtual samples of products for any type of appearance. The possibility of fitting of cosmetics is built in advertizing formats of two types: a video banner in an upper part of the main page of YouTube over section with recommended to video and in contextual video advertizing which is reflected or on top near search results, or in a side column with similar videos. Both types of banners are marked with a yellow explanation Advertising.

If the user clicks advertizing video about a possibility of fitting of cosmetics, the screen of the smartphone will be separated into two parts: in upper video from the front camera will be played, and the tape with the different products available to assessment below will open. The pleasant cosmetics can be purchased, without leaving the application of YouTube. The service is available worldwide, including in Russia.

AR Beauty YouTube created the first trial version on the basis of the alpha of FameBit from YouTube, own branded content Google platform. The cosmetic company NARS which already offered own advertizing block became one of the first companies which took advantage of the offer of YouTube. According to the statistics of the website, more than 20 million people from Great Britain, the USA, Canada and Australia already tested more than 15 of 24 provided lipstick shades - in total more than half a million samples.[1]
