Adobe Digital Publishing Suite is a complete packet of external services (hosted services) and technologies of viewing allowing to create, publish, optimize and sell digital content directly to users through shops of content or through the leading platforms on distribution of mobile content. Adobe Creative Suite created based on a packet and the software of Adobe InDesign CS5, the solution Digital Publishing Suite combines possibilities for creation and delivery of corporate innovation applications for an information access, implementation of flexible model of sales and obtaining the exhaustive analytical reporting.

Thanks to InDesign CS5, PDF, HTML5 and the solution Digital Publishing Suite of publishing house will be able to create even more effectively content with the fixed or adaptive imposition, to provide higher level of interactivity directly from InDesign, to replicate and sell digital versions of the editions and to optimize content and advertizing at all stages of digital publishing.

The solution Digital Publishing Suite is from services of the corporate level and technology of viewing:

  • In the solution Digital Publishing Suite support of Adobe Content Viewer for Adobe AIR® and for iOS will be implemented that will allow publishers to offer the readers the corporate branded applications for work with content on tablet devices, such as Blackberry PlayBook, Samsung Galaxy, Apple iPad and on a set of future devices based on Android which will be presented at the market in the nearest future. Existence of the minimum navigation aids, such as browse mode ('browse mode') in the reduced scale and bidirectional navigation (dual-axis navigation), provides to users new opportunities for work with content.
  • Service of production Production Service: load articles directly from InDesign CS5 into intuitive external service which opens for publishers new opportunities for joint work over design, creations of final models, adding of comments and metadata and allows to browse the preliminary version of all number in that type in what it will be available on the desktop computer or the tablet device. The Production Service supports numerous formats, including PDF and HTML5.
  • Service of distribution Distribution Service: safe storage, a hosting and delivery of digital content to the most popular tablet devices and to desktop computers provide a wide scope and the maximum user audience. Publishers can manage the available content from a control panel library of content, including edit metadata of materials and perform archiving and also notify readers means of Content Viewer on issue of the new issue of the magazine.
  • E-commerce service: use flexible models of payment and sales promotion, selling content directly to users, through own platforms or through the leading platforms selling mobile content, including via BlackBerry App World, Android Market, Google Apps Marketplace or Apple App Store. Publishers will be able to create highly effective programs of sales promotion, for example, selling content at the same time in printing and an electron a type and to provide to users a possibility of purchase of content directly from app store on the device. Support of sales directly through publishing house provides mutual compatibility and allows readers to buy content only once to work with it on the desktop computer or mobile devices.
  • Analytical opportunities of Analytics Service: obtain more detailed information on the readers better to optimize an editorial matter and to increase advertizing sales, using the analytical Adobe SiteCatalyst® online tools, best in the class, created based on Omniture. Publishers get access to the ready toolbars directly from external service, and can see key data on advertizing efficiency and on subscribers, including a total quantity of viewings advertizing, number of loadings of number, data on sales and on use of interactive content, for example, of video. The valuable analytical data on a user profile will become fine addition to the traditional offline data collected in sales points and will allow publishers to understand needs of certain subscribers better. The system of search analytical reports is available in the form of a separate subscription of Adobe SiteCatalyst. The additional toolbars and reports can be configured specially taking into account unique business challenges of each certain publisher.

Price information and availability

The solution Digital Publishing Suite will be available in the second quarter 2011 and it will be submitted in versions of Professional and the Enterprise Edition. The subscription price of the version of the Professional Edition will be US$699 a month plus collecting for each new release which depends on circulation. The version of the Professional Edition allows publishing houses to work with Digital Publishing Suite services and to create applications for all the editions and publications. The version of the Enterprise Edition represents the specialized long-term usage agreement of the platform providing access to the API interfaces for integration with internal publishing services, including with service of management of a subscription, print service (print fulfillment) and service of e-commerce. Besides, Adobe offers professional support services of a corporate class.

Professional publishers who would like to create and sell commercial applications before official release of Digital Publishing Suite, are invited to participation in the Adobe Digital Magazine Publishing Prerelease Program program for the address http://www.adobe.com/beta.

Support of the main models of a subscription

In March, 2011 it was announced that in a packet of Adobe® Digital Publishing Suite support of subscription services Apple App Store Subscriptions and Google One Pass for publishers of newspapers and magazines will be implemented.
