2022: Free version of Photoshop released for browsers
In mid-June 2022, Adobe announced a web version of its popular photo editing tool Photoshop. It is already available to users, but only to those with an account registered to Canada. At the same time, to use the tool, you only need to indicate this country, and not live there. Gradually, all owners of free Adobe accounts around the world will be able to interact with the web version of the photo editor.
Adobe describes the service as free and ultimately plans to disable some features that will only be available to paid subscribers. There will be enough tools in the public domain to do what Adobe considers Photoshop's core features.
We want to make Photoshop more accessible and simple so that more people can try it and experience this product, "said Maria Yap, vice president of Adobe.
The Photoshop tool has long been an industry standard for image editing, but its monthly license fee probably discourages most from using it. Meanwhile, free photo editing programs such as Pixlr, Canva and Photopea attract casual users while also becoming more sophisticated in their offerings. According to The Verge, Adobe makes its basic photo editing tools free to attract users who do not belong to its regular audience.
Adobe previously launched subscription-only web versions of Photoshop and Illustrator, but their functionality was limited to basic editing and sharing of comments between project participants. The updated web version of Photoshop greatly expands the set of available tools and allows users to start new projects, as well as access more advanced color correction and editing tools.[1]

Adobe Photoshop Web Version Announcement
On October 26, 2021, Adobe announced the release of web versions of Photoshop and Illustrator. Now programs can be launched directly in the browser - applications do not require a paid subscription, and in addition, now users can jointly discuss collaboration.
It allows you to view documents, but not all editing tools available in the regular version are available. In the beta version, you can navigate layers, leave annotations and comments, and make basic changes using tools such as an eraser, a point healing brush, and a lasso for highlighting. This approach is similar to how Adobe ported Photoshop and Illustrator to the iPad.
In addition to bringing individual apps online, Adobe is also announcing a new web-based collaboration tool that will arrive in 2021. It will allow you to work together on various documents, and not just share a static image, as many do.
Thus, editors and content creators were able to share the results of work with customers who do not have Photoshop or Illustrator installed. Both applications work in much the same way as Google Documents, which also have the ability to work together.
Photoshop will also have several other new features. The application's object selection tool becomes even more "powerful," indicating that it can automatically select objects when you hover over a scene. There are also new neural filters: the landscape mixer allows the current scene to be mixed with other settings or season, and the new transfer and color harmonisation filters allow the appearance of one image or layer to be applied to another. Adobe also says it improved last year's depth blur filter (mainly Photoshop's version of portrait modes) to create a "more natural blurred background."[2]
Release of version for Mac based on Apple M1 chip
On March 10, 2021, Adobe announced the expansion of Photoshop.
A version of Photoshop has been released with built-in support computers Mac based on the Apple M1 chip. The assembly was prepared based on the results of beta testing, during which the developers collected feedback from users of the graphics package in order to better adapt it to the architecture.
Internal Adobe tests showed that the Apple M1 version of Photoshop significantly speeds up processes and increases performance, compared to working on the Rosetta 2 platform in compatibility mode. In particular, functions began to work faster: intelligent selection, filters and retouching tools.
Adobe has launched two important Photoshop updates for the iPad. First, you can now view a list of auto-saved versions of each cloud document over the past 60 days and roll back to any of them. If necessary, you can rename auto-saves and add them to bookmarks - then they will be available without time limits.
Secondly, on the main screen it became possible to choose cloud documents to work offline. And to free up space in iPad memory, files can be deleted from the local cache, leaving them only in online storage. If necessary, then you can always download them again.
Ability to edit documents together
Adobe on February 18, 2021 announced that it has simplified document collaboration in Photoshop, Illustrator and Fresco.
You can now invite other users to edit documents using the Edit Invitation feature. This saves a lot of time if you work as a team on common projects. The company also introduced the Sync Sets feature in Photoshop.
The Invite to Edit function in Photoshop, Illustrator and Fresco makes it possible to sequentially edit documents anywhere: on a computer, iPad and iPhone (Fresco). Team members can now make changes in turn to a shared file saved in the cloud. You just need to save your work in.PSD or.AI format as a cloud document and send out editing invitations. You can also edit files shared by someone. Shared cloud documents can be opened in other ways: through the assets.adobe.com and the Creative Cloud Desktop application.
Now you can sync sets in Photoshop and use them anywhere. This extends to brushes, patterns, gradients, patterns, styles, shapes and more. Set Sync is already available on MacOS and Windows, and brush sync will soon appear in the iPad version. To enable or disable this option, select: Preferences - > Basic - > Synchronize Sets. If it is active, everything will be the same on any device, as the user is comfortable with the structure of folders, grouping and order of sets. Each change is immediately synchronized - just configure it once.

Adobe plans to release an iPad version of Illustrator in 2020.
