Ansys Fluent - Software for CFD calculations (from engl. computational fluid dynamics, computing hydraulic gas dynamics).

2020: Acceleration of hydrodynamic calculations

JSC KADFEM Si-Ay-Es, the partner of ANSYS company, announced on January 28, 2020 an exit of release of ANSYS 2020 of R1. Transition to more flexible scheme of licensing for users of software of ANSYS Discovery, ANSYS Fluids and ANSYS Mechanical became the main change. It will allow to minimize inconveniences for clients and also to eliminate need of use of ANSYS Licensing Interconnect.

A large number of updates received also solutions of ANSYS for hydrodynamic calculations. The largest of them – at software of ANSYS Fluent, the flagman solution for CFD calculations. Standard workflows of creation of a grid using Fluent Meshing, both for "net", and for "dirty" geometry were improved, changes in the graphical interface and regarding convenience of its use are made. Among other changes – emergence of options and opportunities of modeling of radiation, acoustics, multiphase currents and currents with chemical reactions, turbulence models, etc. Updating received also the Fluent Icing application allowing to execute more simply modeling of frosting in flight, using the Fluent Application Client environment – now in it the concept of the project by analogy with ANSYS FENSAP-ICE is implemented that arranges the organization of files and simplifies work with the program and also support of files of *.cas.h5 for saving the results of modeling of increase of ice in single-stage and multistage calculations of frosting is added. A number of improvements also received:

ANSYS CFX software regarding behavior of model of wall boiling of RPI: there were new settings of management of the RPI Wall Boiling model and also her behavior changed – the RPI model can generate now bubbles which then are modelled using the MUSIG model. The algorithm used by default for solving of tasks of non-stationary interaction "rotor stator" by Harmonic Balance method changed and also some other improvements of behavior of settlement algorithms and the ANSYS CFX models is made.

Minor changes happened in a turbo line of ANSYS – ANSYS TurboGrid and ANSYS BladeModeler.

In ANSYS Forte software improvements in the interface of modeling, settings of design models, technology of carrying out the connected calculations and also regarding interaction with ANSYS post-processors are made for modeling of processes in DVS combustion chambers.

Availability

The distribution kit of the version of ANSYS 2020 R1 is available to loading in appropriate section of ANSYS Customer Portal and also at offices of JSC KADFEM Si-Ay-Es company. Receiving license opportunities requires updating of the server of licenses to the version of ANSYS 2020 of R1. The current license files (for ANSYS 2019 R3) will continue to work with the manager of licenses without the need for their updating.
