2020: Emergence of opportunities for CFD calculations and workflows after topological optimization

JSC KADFEM Si-Ay-Es, the partner of ANSYS company, announced on January 28, 2020 an exit of release of ANSYS 2020 of R1. Transition to more flexible scheme of licensing for users of software of ANSYS Discovery, ANSYS Fluids and ANSYS Mechanical became the main change. It will allow to minimize inconveniences for clients and also to eliminate need of use of ANSYS Licensing Interconnect.

Changes in the settlement ANSYS Workbench platform include emergence of opportunities for CFD calculations (from engl. computational fluid dynamics, computing hydraulic gas dynamics) and workflows after topological optimization and also new properties of models of thermomechanical fatigue of materials. Besides, updates received a number of technologies of the settlement platform:

Service of management of start of tasks on the selected computing resources of ANSYS Distributed Compute Services (DCS). Its updates also include changes and improvements in service Design Point Service (DPS) for the fast and effective analysis of tens of thousands of options of design models using several diverse computing resources.

The application for one - and multicriteria parameter optimization of ANSYS DesignXplorer in which a number of functions and settings for carrying out optimization calculations appeared. Besides, the possibility of viewing models of the lowered order (ROM models) in Twin Builder was improved and the compatibility of expansions for DesignXplorer is updated.

Changes in the System Coupling graphical interface simplify workflow and provide access to settings of communications out of the Workbench application. Among the main changes – work with a format of the output data ANSYS EnSight Gold, a possibility of simultaneous accomplishment of several solutions by independent participants of joint calculation, improvement of parallel operation of participants of joint calculation, improvement of System Coupling Participant Library for increase in convenience of using and development of functionality of joint modeling, etc.

Updates also received the modules Engineering Data, External Data and External Model.

Availability

The distribution kit of the version of ANSYS 2020 R1 is available to loading in appropriate section of ANSYS Customer Portal and also at offices of JSC KADFEM Si-Ay-Es company. Receiving license opportunities requires updating of the server of licenses to the version of ANSYS 2020 of R1. The current license files (for ANSYS 2019 R3) will continue to work with the manager of licenses without the need for their updating.
