2024: Product Announcement
Astra Group in August 2024 announced the launch of the Astra Cloud cloud platform, which is positioned as a full-fledged alternative to Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services for Russian companies. This step is aimed at providing organizations, including government agencies and large corporations, with reliable and secure solutions in the context of the ongoing import substitution process.
According to Astra Group, the new Astra Cloud platform is based entirely on the company's products, including the Astra Linux operating system, Tantor database management system, GitFlic development tools, RuBackup backup and other key tools. Customers can use Astra Cloud both in on-premium format and in a private cloud deployed on Astra Linux. This solution will complete import substitution and provide flexibility and scalability for large projects.
According to Anton Shmakov, technical director of Astra Group, the growing demand for cloud technologies and the desire of Russian companies to minimize risks are forcing them to look for stable, import-independent solutions. Astra Cloud offers all the necessary tools to digitally transform the business without the added cost of equipment and staff training. Moreover, the platform meets high security standards, which is especially important for government agencies and large corporations.
The placement of Astra Cloud in the Moscow DataPro and AtomData data centers, corresponding to the TIER III and TIER IV security levels, provides reliable data protection. The platform offers a "3-2-1" backup strategy that minimizes the risk of data loss, with two copies of the file stored locally and one in the cloud.
In addition, Astra Cloud supports tiered security and the ability to integrate with existing solutions through the directory service. The platform is managed through an intuitive personal account interface, which simplifies the work of IT specialists and reduces the likelihood of errors.[1]
