The performance of drivers for Hitachi G-, F- and compatible series DSS systems with Panama 1 and 2 operating systems has also been optimized. The use of the driver allows you to realize the optimal performance of the disk subsystem, as well as all the capabilities provided by software-controlled interaction with DSS through the API - fast cloning and snapshot of disks, more I/O for performance-sensitive I/O applications thanks to direct connection of LUNs to virtual machines.
The developers added Cloud Controller Manager (CCM) to the product, a component of the Kubernetes control layer that includes platform-specific logic. The PaaS platform service was also integrated, allowing applications to be deployed in the Kubernetes environment on baremetal servers. As of March 2023, such clusters were raised on virtual machines. Virtualization, in turn, eats up many resources, and therefore for high-load services with a large number of requests per second, such a configuration is not suitable or ineffective. But thanks to PaaS service for Kubernetes clusters on baremetal, the customer can now achieve optimal performance on the existing fleet of equipment.
In the updated version, the developers added to the platform the ability to flexibly manage resources at the tenant level, implementing a model for managing the visibility and access of users to all major entities of the platform: Compute (VM), VINS, Image, Extnet.
In addition, a SDK for the Go language was added, which optimizes the development of applications that interact with the platform.
