2017: iModel 2.0 presentation

In December, 2017 the founder of Bentley Systems, Keith Bentley, provided a cloud platform of "iModel 2.0" and its first iModelHub service for acceleration of "transition to digital technologies" for users of ProjectWise Design Integration services. Without requiring changes in existing applications or BIM processes, the cloud service of iModelHub activates the 'iModel bridges' function, specific to each application, which is automatically started using ProjectWise:

• synchronizes and distributes the changes executed using the BIM applications specific to specific discipline;
• combines semantic and physically their making digital components; and also
• maintains high visualization for complex and continuous project analysis for all sections and participants.

Synchronization of changes

On ProjectWise Design Integration service refer as to "a working horse for sharing" of 43 project organizations from Top list ENR 50. It manages workflows on the basis of files for project implementation which correspond to project roles and solve problems of asynchrony of joint work. Adding of iModelHub gives the chance to take advantage of cloud services of Microsoft Azure completely to integrate the connected projects (connected projects) - synchronization of all checked project changes and automatic update of a difficult project information model for complex and continuous project analysis, visualization of the statuses and risks in digital workflows on disciplines.

iModelHub publishes all project changes in the working schedule and notifies participants, based on ProjectWise workflow configuration, on existence of corresponding changes. Participants can synchronize (or not) the work taking into account the works schedule and also can visualize, analyze and interpret the impact of the current changes.

For providing detailed analytics in several projects and for the connected assets (connected assets) it is possible to program "agents of iModel" ('iModel agents') for each object of analytics. So you will have an opportunity to receive notifications on changes at the level of the project with the help of iModelHub and as appropriate to filter information for effective step-by-step updating of digital storages of the organization, providing reliable data access of the current engineering model of infrastructure and observance of standards and security.

Systematization of digital processes

The containers i-model ("1.0") which are widely used in Bentley provide the structures useful for BIM products and documentary in itself, but this approach was not intended for creation of difficult interrelations and understanding on different disciplines. iModel ("2.0") refers to a cloud service of iModelHub and iModel Bridges for achievement of the greatest possible systematization of digital processes.

iModel Bridge integrates information from own format of the application into iModelHub, considering semantics, structure, units of measure and coordinates. Bentley Systems provides iModel Bridge for the applications and other widespread BIM applications, such as Autodesk REVIT, and will provide API for creation of bridges from other applications.

Immersive visualization anywhere

Adding synchronization of changes and digital systematization with the general environment of data, shared services ProjectWise and Bentley AssetWise, iModelHub increases the value of digital workflows inside and between the connected projects (connected projects) connected by assets (connected assets) and digital data warehouses of the enterprise. Extending and synchronizing copies of iModel, the cloud platform of iModel 2.0 supports mass horizontal scaling for reliable, widespread and asynchronous visualization of the project. For example, the new Navigator Web application from Bentley allows any authorized user in any modern browser safely to get an information access about components of the project and assets, using convenient three-dimensional immersive visualization. Immersive visualization includes the consolidation BIM of models and digital components in a digital context of the ready grids of reality created by the software for modeling of reality of Bentley ContextCapture, for example, from shooting with the UAV.

For the first time project implementation and creation of working packets can reliably and accountably "industrialize" BIM using ensuring control and change management by means of project and construction workflows and also the analysis of a current status of the project and a construction object. For the first time this completely "integrated" environment of data is able to allow engineering models to serve digital DNA for modeling of performance of assets of the infrastructure connected to operational technology initial data and digital storages of the enterprise thanks to the services in reliability assurance leading in the market and operational analytics of Bentley AssetWise.
