Carrier Ethernet Transport (CE Transport) is technology of automation of connection of communication services and a configuration of network, is focused on telecom operators.
On November 29, 2016 the Brain4Net company announced release of the solution Carrier Ethernet Transport. The technology will help telecom operators to automate processes of connection of communication services and a configuration of network, to reduce equipment costs and operation, to create the flexible service-oriented infrastructure of Metro-networks adapted to implementation of technologies of networks of fifth generation (5G).
The technology is created on the basis of a software platform of B4N Service Platform and the equipment of bare-metal producers of switches.
Carrier Ethernet Transport (CE Transport) from Brain4Net will give the chance to operators to adapt to the growing requests of clients and the market, service quality, width of the channel, speed of connection of services, to provide a possibility of independent management of parameters of services online.
The technology supports smooth upgrade of regional and city networks, saving necessary functionality of metro-network (MAN) for provision of services of B2C-and to B2B-clients.
As a part of functionality:
- implementation of various topology of private networks on the basis of the services described by consortium MEF – E-Line, E-Tree, E-LAN, E-Access. The technology helps to automate process of the CE configuration of services and to reduce time of providing service from several days or even weeks to read minutes;
- support of processing of the broadcast traffic;
- the centralized engineering of traffic;
- fault tolerance. Means of protecting from falling of links, switches, SDN controllers and other nodes of a system are provided in the solution that allows to avoid degradation of service;
- integration with infrastructure of DPC of the operator, an opportunity to expand functionality of the solution at the expense of virtual network functions in a telecom cloud;
- integration with IP/MPLS services, support static and dynamic IP routing in the SDN domain.
- the built-in system of monitoring of infrastructure and services, for cutting of costs for acquisition and integration of additional resources of monitoring.
CE Transport includes components of the B4N Service Platform platform and a switching equipment from technology partners of Brain4Net. the technology supports a possibility of creation of switches on the basis of architecture of x86, by means of use of the multi-platform OpenFlow-agent of B4N SwitchOS. For November, 2016 switches on the basis of chipsets of Broadcom StrataXGS and Helix4, EZchip NPU 4/5, the h86-device with network interface cards of Intel supporting DPDK libraries (Data Plane Development Kit) are supported.
Carrier Ethernet Transport will help to optimize indicators:
- operating costs by means of process automation of connection, logistics of services and a configuration of network infrastructure;
- simplify implementation of functionality updating only of the central managing software, without replacement of components of switching;
- to quickly put services into operation and to achieve universality of network for the wide list of services;
