Historically the packet of ERwin Data Modeler is used in designing of big databases. Using usual paradigms of modeling, this solution creates visual representation of data assets and difficult interrelations between them. With such approach customers retain full control over architecture of the DB, despite transfer of databases in public, private and hybrid cloud environments.

The module CA ERwin Web Portal, one more new solution in a line, helps the enterprises to receive additional return from information due to visualization of metadata and access to a business context of data, including determinations, structures and interrelations between data. This web portal gives a clear and complete idea of data assets which helps to control and neutralize the risks connected with changes in structure of initial data.

The new version of the flagman designer of metadata of CA ERwin Data Modeler r8.2 facilitates collective work in the enterprise at the expense of the new mechanism of competitive licenses and a set of the ready Active Model templates now. Competitive licensing simplifies movement of licenses on the organization, especially on large enterprises with automatic distribution of applications and/or the distributed groups of modeling. The new Active Model templates allow to publish and reuse easily objects of models wholeheartedly from already existing information sources – it provides additional economy and to quality improvement in any works on modeling.

The updated CA ERwin series differs in the high level of interaction between separate solutions. For example, CA ERwin Data Modeler can give graphic structure declarations and information destinations for better and effective management of data in local and cloud databases.
