2023: Over 200 people treated

Over 200 people in 2023 cured scoliosis thanks to a dynamic correction system developed by the capital's manufacturer of titanium implants and instruments. This was announced on November 23, 2023 by the Minister of the Government of Moscow, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy Vladislav Ovchinsky.

The principle of operation of the system for correcting scoliotic deformation of the spine of the capital company is based on the tension of the surgical cord from the convex side of the deformed spine through the screws installed in the vertebrae. Due to the compression of one side of the spine, segmental correction of scoliosis occurs. This treatment technique was developed at the N. N. Priorov National Medical Research Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics. Now foreign doctors are also striving to master it.

The development of the metropolitan company "CONMET" for the dynamic correction of scoliosis allows you to significantly reduce the average length of hospitalization and reduce the period of rehabilitation. This method of treatment is suitable for both young and adults, while it will remain effective for the treatment of patients with the fourth degree of the disease. So, in 2023, over 200 people were able to correct scoliosis thanks to the manufacturer's patented solution, - said Vladislav Ovchinsky.

All elements used in the system comply with international standards, are made of biocompatible materials and are safe for humans. They can be in the patient's body for a long period of time. The decision on the need for removal is made by the attending physician depending on the results of the treatment, the specific clinical case and the characteristics of the patient's body.

The operation to install the system is carried out both by open and endoscopic method. At the same time, it passes faster compared to traditional surgery and is not accompanied by massive blood loss. All this significantly reduces the patient's recovery period - the full load is resolved after six weeks, "said Sergei Kolesov, head of the spinal pathology department of the N.N. Priorova Ministry of Health of Russia, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Association of Traumatology and Orthopedics of Russia.
