2018: Z9264F-ON
On August 22, 2018 the Dell EMC company announced the dvukhyunitovy Z9264F-ON switch from a series of a switching equipment for data centers of Z-Series supporting up to 64 ports 100 Gigabit Ethernet. The device is intended for service of network factory of data center.
According to the developer, the product uses architecture of Open Networking that provides its compatibility with OS of other vendors (for August, 2018 it can work under control of Dell EMC OS10 Open Edition and also OS from Big Switch, Cumulus, Pluribus Networks, IP Infusion and free OpenSwitch or SONiC OS developed within Open Compute Project).
The Z9264F-ON switch is equipped with the Broadcom StrataXGS Tomahawk II chip and as an option supports 64 ports 50 Gigabit Ethernet or 128 ports 25 Gigabit Ethernet. He uses basic functions of switching and routing of L2/L3 and provides performance at the level of 4200 million packets per second (Mpps).[1]
Implementation of technologies of virtualization and automation essentially changes architecture of data centers, forcing out layers of the equipment and accelerating inter-element coupling on calculations and storage. The shift in architecture answers the growing requests of buyers, both corporations, and service providers who would like more freedom when choosing network equipment necessary to them and software. Such level of disaggregation (disaggregation) of technologies which Dell EMC calls Open Networking comes to the central place in transition to program network (SDN). Z9264F-ON answers this consumption pattern, proposing clients more software solutions, whether it be commercial or open source, opening a way to innovations, to bigger economy and, eventually, to bigger control, claim in Dell EMC.
According to the statement of the developer, Z9264F-ON in combination with the software of Dell EMC, or partner software, provides flexible and reliable physical infrastructure of network. In modern data centers physical networks integrate with virtual for connection of virtual machines and containers and creating software-defined data centers. To reach it, Dell EMC closely cooperates with VMware, proposing joint solutions for cost optimization and transactions.
Deliveries of the Dell EMC Z9264F-ON switch will begin on August 31, 2018.
2016: Z9100-ON
On March 15, 2016 the Dell company announced in the Russian market form factor 1RU switch for levels of aggregation and a core of Dell Networking Z9100-ON (an input/output 100GbE).
The device provides support of multihigh-speed switching (10/25/40/50/100GE). The switch is focused on use in cloud environments, an environment of high-performance computing and Web 2.0 applications where a variety of speeds in high density environments is required. It is also intended for the analysis of Big Data and for Wednesdays in which the high performance and a low delay are of great importance.
