Edelweiss/Medallion

The edelweiss is a management system for hotel (Property Management System, or PMS) which not only allows to carry out timely room reservation, as much as possible to simplify the procedure of a design of the guest, taking into account his preferences, but also to plan loading of hotel, to keep statistics, to provide data for formation of the accounting and management reporting, etc.

The Edelweiss/Medallion system was developed by Reksoft company in 1995 and for a long time was implemented in hotels of Western Europe. In 2003 it was sold to the American company SoftBrands which continued installation of this product around the world. Today more than 2000 hotels and tourist complexes use the Edelweiss/Medallion system. In Russia the Edelink company founded based on department of the hotel systems of Reksoft company is engaged in implementation of Edelweiss/Medallion.

The hotel Edelweiss system is the standard product which is easily adapted for specific hotel (the number of rooms, services, rates, etc.) requiring the minimum maintenance), clear in training and convenient in work.

Accounting of requirements of the Russian market

The Edelweiss / Medallion system completely conforms to requirements of the Russian market. Here the far incomplete list of features of practice of the Russian hotels and the Russian legislation which were considered at localization of a system:

• In the Russian hotels practice of the settlement in places which is most often used together with the classical settlement in number is widespread. It imposes to a system special requirements for control of loading of hotel, search of available rooms and/or places, accounting of telephone negotiations from numbers sold by places. Accounting of the number of rooms and its loading should be conducted in room-night.
• In many domestic hotels the system of obligatory complete prepayment of accommodation and strict control of debtors is used (conceived control it is exercised on an hourly basis).
• In the Russian Federation there are tightly regulated procedures of monetary settlings with clients. When implementing the interface with cash registers additional requirements are imposed to a system.
• The Russian system of accounting significantly differs from foreign. For example, for correct providing data in accounting a system should consider not only the facts of payment and provision of services, but also to monitor communication between them, i.e. to answer a question when and with what method each of services was paid.
• The domestic system of taxation also has a number of unique features. It is possible to give the sales tax when which charging it is necessary to consider not only names of goods and/or services, but also a method of their payment as an example.
• The hotel system extended in the Russian market should contain a set of the obligatory reports intended for providing in tax authorities, OVIR, Goskomstat. The order of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation No. 121 of December 13, 1993 approves forms of primary accounting for hotels of the Russian Federation.

History

2018: Integration into the ACS of Proffit

In May the works on integration of an ACS Edelweiss with a control system and accounting of improving services from the company Proffit are completed. Installation of the interface between systems takes place in Sport Inn Hotel & Wellness hotel in Sochi. Main article.

2017: Integration with "Bitriks24"

On August 31, 2017 the Edelink company announced integration of a management system for Edelveys hotel with a cloud service of "Bitriks24".

After initial automatic synchronization further, when entering the guest or the company in Edelveys ACS archive, information will be automatically unloaded in "Bitriks24". All updates are also automatically unloaded.

In "Bitriks24" the following information is unloaded:

The list of fields not final and in process of emergence of requests will extend. Integration is implemented including by free option of a cloud service "Bitriks24".

2016

The ACS Edelweiss is integrated with processing of Raiffeisenbank and SKD HUNE

Specialists of Edelink company completed at the beginning of 2016 development of interfaces with processing of Raiffeisenbank and a control system of access of Hune.

Availability of the interface between the hotel system and processing of bank cards, allows users of an ACS to make Edelweiss of operation on payment, a preavtorization, return via bank cards of the client. Integration with different banking systems expands possibilities of hotel when choosing the supplier of these services. Today a system works with the following processings: Sberbank Russian Standard Raiffeisenbank INPASS UCS Arkus2 AcquiroPay.

Also the line of the castle systems with which the ACS Edelweiss is integrated extended. Door HUNE electronic locks work at contactless proxies cards and do not require laying of wires. A system is controlled the Lock program which allows to code office cards and guest cards for accommodation.

The ACS Edelweiss is integrated with the Hoteza system

In the spring of 2016 the interaction interface between an ACS Edelweiss and a system for information exchange and entertainments of Hoteza is implemented. Process management and content is performed via the internal Hoteza server on a cloud. Among systems integrated with an ACS Edelweiss:

• Hoteza TV is the system of interactive hotel television for which work the IPTV prefixes are not required, it is compatible to the majority of models of hotel TVs. The main advantage is the simple and intuitive management system (CMS) which allows to make changes and to publish the updated content at any time.
• Hoteza Mobile is the mobile application for hotels developed for ensuring effective process of communication with guests. The application can be loaded for several seconds with AppStore or Google Play then hotel guests will be able to use quickly and conveniently all services of hotel, without addressing the administrator.
• Hoteza HotPad is the multilingual interactive guest application developed for use on the tablets located in hotel rooms. Is suitable for all tablets with operating systems iOS and Android.

Using the implemented interface it is possible to carry out automatic registration of the guest by the room number and a surname, to change the status and data of the guest, to browse the account, to receive messages. The Hoteza system together with an ACS Edelweiss is used in Gorny hotel complex in St. Petersburg and Kontinental in Belgorod.

The Edelweiss system is integrated with automatic telephone exchange of Samsung

In August, 2016 development of the module of the interface between an ACS Edelweiss and automatic telephone exchange of Samsung of the OfficeServ 7000 series was completed: OfficeServ 7200 and OfficeServ 7400.

Applications for hotel business for OfficeServ 7200/7400 combine the set of business applications and additional functionality intended to meet requirements of the hotel industry. Solutions for hotels are available in two separate products addressed to two separate segments of the market: "OfficeServ Concierge-Lite" for small hotels (from about 5 to 15 numbers) and "OfficeServ Concierge-Elite" for hotels from 25 to 400 numbers.

Existence of the two-sided module of the interface between systems allows to configure the following basic functions:

• Room status – this function allows employees of floor service to change the statuses of rooms (it is removed – dirty – it is ready to settling) a set of the special code on the telephone set.
• Check In/Check Out – an opportunity to automatically open/block communication at arrival/departure of the guest. Excludes unauthorized calls from not populated numbers.
• Guest name is transfer on the station of a surname of the guest at the settlement. Further this surname is displayed on displays of telephone sets when the guest calls from number on other telephone installed in hotel.
• Automatic Wake-Up – an opportunity to set means of an ACS Edelweiss of a reveille (reminder) for the guest.
• Message Waiting is turning on of the To You Message indicator on the telephone set in number when entering into an ACS Edelweiss of the message for the guest.

Instrument of control of a power supply

On November 19, 2016 the Edelink company announced emergence in the November version of an ACS Edelweiss the tool for control of providing the paid power supply.

The small program can work at the majority of personal computers running Windows and execute transactions:

• Viewing the list of guests at whom to personal accounts different options of a power supply are added for today
• Filtering only of certain food services: breakfasts, lunches or dinners
• Search of the guest by last name, to the room number or card number
• Possibility of a mark of the fact of providing power supply.

The program loads information from Edelveys ACS base and allows to refuse use of "paper" reports with lists of guests for restaurant. The responsible always has the relevant list of guests which adds a power supply before eyes. After a mark of the fact of providing a power supply the guest "disappears" from the list. If at restaurant account of providing a power supply to guests is kept, in an ACS Edelweiss appears a possibility of creation of reports with calculation of the rendered and not provided services.

2015

The interface between an ACS Edelweiss and the FPrint software and hardware complexes

In January, 2015 works on writing of the interface between the Edelweiss automated control system and the FPrint cash registers from ATOL company are finished. The lineup of FPrint allows to select the model suitable under specific objectives of business and the budget. Service of FPrint performs more than 1000 maintenance centers across all territory of Russia. The ACS Edelweiss is compatible to the following models: FPrint-5200K, FPrint-02K, FPrint-03K, FPrint-88K, FPrint-55PTK, FPrint-22PTK, FPrint-11PTK, FPrint-77PTK.

The ACS Edelweiss is integrated with a revenue management system

Specialists of Edelink company developed the interface on data transmission in a revenue management system (RMS) from Hotel Advisors company. The revenue management system helps to set the necessary rates in due time for improvement of indicators of hotel and to completely build policy of sales, based on recommendations, reasonable mathematically. A system has the simple interface and is available to installation in hotel of any number of rooms.

The program interface ACS "Edelweiss" allows automatically, at least time per hour, to transfer the depersonalized information on the made armorings to the RMS system. Data on number of the reserved rooms, dates of arrival and departure, the cost of living, a marketing segment, a source of armoring and some other fields are transferred. At the same time complete confidentiality about personal data of the guest is observed. Such automated electronic reports allow the RMS system to have the most reliable information for drawing up forecasts and recommendations.

2014

The ACS Edelweiss is integrated with SKD Hafele Dialock and automatic telephone exchange of 3CH

Specialists of Edelink company completed development of two new program interfaces. Integration into the system of Hafele Dialock electronic locks allows to program automatically cards - room keys at arrival of the guest and also at any time in the course of accommodation, for example, in case of loss of a key. A castle system gives to hotel control over settlements that affects increase in profit and increases security, both lodgers, and their property.

The interface with telephone exchange of 3CX supports all standard feature set: turning on of phone in number at arrival and shutdown at departure, installation of reveilles, indication of existence of the message for the guest and transfer of automatic messages about change of the status of number after carrying out cleaning for what it is enough to maid to type the special code on the telephone set.

Expansion of a line of interfaces between an ACS Edelweiss and the adjacent systems gives the chance of the choice for the hotel enterprise and allows to make complex automation of an object by the most optimal method.

Integration of an ACS Edelweiss with Booking.com

On March 11, 2014 the Edelink company announced implementation of the interface between the Edelweiss automated control system and the system of Internet armoring Booking.com.

Works on creation of the interface with the system of Internet armoring are begun in the fall of 2013 and carried out in several steps. At the beginning programmers of the company implemented the exchange protocol information and executed completions in an ACS Edelweiss to observe all requirements of a booking system. Then resolved issues of safe data storage of bank cards of guests and carrying out payments for armoring.

After that, jointly with specialists from Booking.com, completed testing and certification.

Integration with ELPOST

On April 7, 2014 the Edelink company announced creation of the mechanism of interaction of an ACS Edelweiss with an automated system of ELPOST intended for information transfer about arrival and departure of the foreign citizen from hotels in territorial authorities of FMS.

According to requirements of Federal law No. 109-FZ of 7/18/2006 "About migration registration of foreign citizens and persons without citizenship in the Russian Federation" the foreign citizen in case of stay in the Russian Federation is obliged to get up on migration registration in the place of stay. The notification on arrival of the foreign citizen should be provided by hotel in body of migration registration within one working day following behind day of arrival in the place of stay.

Integration of an ACS Edelweiss and the ELPOST systems helps to transfer automatically to an accounting system all basic data of the guest: Full name, passport data, birthplace, these visas and migration card. At the current stage information on foreign citizens and citizens of the CIS countries can automatically be transferred to ELPOST. Availability of the interface between systems saves the staff of hotel from double work, reduces an error probability at manual entry.

2013: The edelweiss can work with WuBook

In July integration of an ACS Edelweiss with the WuBook system came to the end. The WuBook system allows to automate sale of a certain part of hotel rooms through the systems of global distribution GDS/ADS among which: Expedia, Booking.com, Hotel.de, Agoda, Vashotel, OkToGo, Venere.com, Hrs.com, HostelsClub, TravelEurope, Escapio, BBPlanet, Splendia, InItalia, Atrapalo, Sabre (Travelocity), Budgetplaces, Orbitz.

The feature of this interface is that it requires the minimum settings from hotel. Data on categories of numbers, rates and availability to armoring are transferred automatically at any changes made in the Edelweiss.

For sale through the systems of global distribution the hotel selects a certain number of rooms - a quota. The quota can be configured for certain periods, types of numbers and also armoring conditions. Also it can be defined only for those categories of numbers and rates which are obviously mentioned by the user as "on sale through CRS".

Thus, the quota selected for WuBook imposes rather tight restrictions on armoring of these numbers by users of an ACS Edelweiss in hotel. A system controls existence of free rooms at accomplishment of all main transactions and does not allow room reservation on account of a quota until this information is changed in settings of the interface with the WuBook system.

2012: integration into ARCUS2 system

At the beginning of 2012 specialists of Edelink and ARCOM Group company made integration between an ACS Edelweiss and ARCUS2 system. This solution expands number of program interfaces using which in an ACS Edelweiss is implemented payment processing automation by bank cards. Application of this solution is possible if the hotel signs the service agreement of the international bank cards with the merchant acquirers having processings of OpenWay, SmartVista, Tieto, CompassPlus, SPDH, CORTEX and using software of POS terminals of production of ARCOM company.

The solution represents set of the software and hardware tools allowing to provide acceptance of cashless payments on cash registers on the international and local bank cards including cards of the EMV standard and proximity cards.

Advantage of ARCUS is independence of business logic of the cash software of the changing requirements from acquiring and International payment systems. At implementing solution ARCUS2 from the supplier of the cash solution it is required to provide only "transit through cash desk" that gives the chance of economy of means and time.

Also the list of interfaces between an ACS Edelweiss and control systems of access was replenished with the electronic castle ADEL system. The ADEL company offers one of economic solutions of a specialized hotel control system of access. ADEL electronic locks use as keys magnetic cards, proximity cards, the Touch Memory keys (iButton), smart cards, on fingerprints and also a combination of keys, for example, the magnetic card plus Touch Memory. Locks work in a standalone mode and have the international certificate of security.

ACS Edelweiss has integration with ten control systems of access among which: Norwegian VingCard system, Italian Cisa, American ATLAS (Kaba IIco), Spanish Salto, Inhova, Tesa, Onity and Omnitec systems, and Chinese systems Adel, LevelLock.

In a product the module "Maids" was finished, the system of Discount is improved and the system of notes in a reservation card is created. Further completion of the module "Actions" is planned. For the purpose of expansion of the offer for clients by the adjacent systems, specialists Edelink implemented interfaces with the systems of ADEL electronic locks and Orbit. Also the interface with ARCUS2 payment system and the Spa-Insight Spa services automation system was written.

For 2012 in the Edelweiss system new completions were made. So, the module "Web reports" which gives the chance to get access to report forms of an ACS Edelweiss from any browser, from any place in the world through the Internet was developed. Functions in the module "Actions" were finished: possibilities of tariffing of lease of premises and services in days of the week, holidays, time of day, hours are expanded and also the functions allowing to use the module when accounting services for visitors who do not live in hotel are finished. Integration with Reserve Master payment system was made for expansion of opportunities to make payment at room reservation.

2011: integration into the EasyFood and ATLAS system

Specialists of Edelink company together with colleagues from Intellectual Technologies company, the Republic of Mari El, completed development of the new program interface ACS "Edelweiss" of version 5.30 with the automated control system for EasyFood restaurant. The EasyFood system allows to manage not only service of a power supply of hotel, but also additional services: billiards, bowling, game machines.

Availability of the interface between systems allows to make offset of payments on number for all services provided in hotel complex (restaurant, bar, a sauna, billiards, etc.) in one point - service of placement of hotel; keep account of the power supply included in accommodation. In the presence of integration with an access control system the guest's card issued on reception is the e-wallet of the guest, allowing it to be calculated for services of restaurants and additional services within prepayment or within the provided limit which is accurately controlled by a system.

In December, 2011 specialists of Edelink company implement the interface between an ACS Edelweiss and the ATLAS system which is compatible to all models of Kaba Ilco locks – E-760, E-770, E-790, wall readers, locks for emergency exits.

Advanced Technology Lodging Access System is developed for operation as in small hotels, and large hotel complexes with a full range of services, being that reliable tool which ensures safety of access to premises and accurately fixes chronology of events. Main advantages of a system are:

• Locks autonomous (do not require wiring)
• Infrastructure of a local network of hotel does not change
• Interactive Web pages minimize training of operators of a rack of placement and allow to reach the maximum effect.

2010: The threshold of 250 implementations in Russia is exceeded

By the end of 2010 the number of implementations of an ACS of "Edelweiss/Medallion" in the territory of Russia and the CIS countries exceeded 250 objects. Among new clients: the hotels entering into Cronwell Hotels & Resorts gallery - Cronwell Inn Business center 3 *, Khanty-Mansiysk and Imperial hotel (Wine & Spa Hotels by Cronwell Abrau-Durso); new hotel at administration of the Governor of Saint Petersburg "Mercury"; Park Hotel on the Krestovsky island, known for the largest bicycle track located in its territory in Russia; the new hotel "Yaroslavl Farmstead" opened to the 1000 anniversary of Yaroslavl and other objects.

In 2010 large projects on creation and implementation of a complex of information systems for the Moscow hotel "Garden Ring" and to start of the third queue of a hardware and software system in the resort of "Igora" - the Ice Arena were complete. In implementation process of projects, specialists of Edelink company developed new methods and skills on conducting contract works are improved.

Also, within a year, work on development and improvement of technology components of an ACS Edelweiss was conducted. In a system new modules appeared: "Intellectual management of rates" and "Management of bonus points". The main destination of modules - increase in economic indicators of the enterprise due to increase in a customer loyalty. This functionality is the most demanded today, in the period of the increased competition in the market of providing hotel services. The list of interfaces with the adjacent systems increased. Joining with a new software version for processing of bank cards of UCS company is implemented. The new version completely meets requirements of the PCI DSS standard defining requirements to security when carrying out such transactions. Development and testing of the new program interface ACS "Edelweiss" with telephone exchanges of Panasonic of KX-TDE100/200/600 series under the TCP/IP protocol is complete.

1999: Adaptation of a system under requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation

During 1999 and 2000 the Reksoft company carried out adaptation of a system under the legislation of the Russian Federation and trial operation of a system in a number of the Russian hotels therefore a system was completely adapted for the Russian hotels, at the same time having saved positive lines of the western school of conducting hotel business.

1998: Start of sales of a system in Russia

In 1998 the decision on promotion of a system on the Russian market under the Edelweiss trademark was made. Studying of requirements of the domestic market and the legislation of the Russian Federation revealed a number of essential differences of the Russian and foreign approaches to conducting hotel business which complicated distribution of a system in the Russian market in "not adapted" type.

1995: Reksoft develops a system for the Swiss hotels

The automated control system for Edelveys hotel began to be created in 1995 by request of a chain of the Swiss hotels. Development was conducted by specialists of Reksoft under the leadership of the western consultants working in the field of rendering information consulting services for hotel business.

In foreign market a system extends under the Medallion trademark and has more than 1500 installations in 35 countries of the world, including more than 700 installations in Europe.
