2020: Issued to the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation frequencies for the systems of transport telematics
State Radio Frequency Commission (SCRF) at a meeting which took place on July 13, 2020, made the decision to select to the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation radio frequency band 350-370 MHz for use of the radio-electronic means (distribution zone) of mobile broadband wireless access intended for creation of a technology communication network of the federal system of transport telematics (FSTT) in the territory of Russia.
Department will perform administration of a radio frequency spectrum and to be responsible for its target use — the deputy head reported Ministry of Telecom and Mass Communications Oleg Ivanov. |
The radio frequency spectrum is selected to Ministry of Transport for 10 years, but the ministry should approve the actions by the Defense Ministry which equipment also works in this range.
The decision of SCRF that the federal system of transport telematics (FSTT) will be built by Ministry of Transport at frequencies of 350-370 MHz struck off the list of applicants the company "Glonass-TM" and "Russian networks of broadcasting and notification" which also applied for a role of the contractor on this project.[1]
FSTT will be used for creation of the technology environment for data exchange between participants of traffic, including normal cars and UAVs. It is supposed that FSTT will become a basis of the Single navigation and coherent information system of a transport complex.
Transport telematics will be a part of the system two types of communication networks:
- narrowband network — for providing with communication static objects, different control nodes, sensors. It will be used where small information volumes and a delay time of a signal not essentially are transferred.
- the network of broadband access in the Internet — is necessary for ensuring reliable functioning pilotless and intelligent transport systems, modern services, including video transmission.
