Biography
Oleg Ivanov was born on August 11, 1965 in the city of Polotsk, Vitebsk region.
In 1987 he graduated from the Voronezh Higher Military Engineering School of Radio Electronics.
In 1997 he graduated with honors from the Military Academy. M.V. Frunze.
In 2006, he graduated with honors and a gold medal from the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with a degree in military and state administration.
From 1982 to 2011 served in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in various command and staff positions.
Major General of the Reserve. Candidate of military sciences.
Since September 27, 2011, he served as deputy head of Roskomnadzor.
In the spring of 2012, he temporarily acted as head of the Federal Service for Supervision in the Field of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Communications.
On August 6, 2018, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation. The corresponding order was signed by Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev. Oleg Ivanov came to the department shortly after Konstantin Noskov became minister.
2021: Dismissal as Deputy Minister
On May 11, 2021, by order of the government, Oleg Ivanov was relieved of his post as deputy minister of digital development, communications and mass communications. The Ministry of Digital Affairs told TAdviser that their department will create a scientific and technical center on the basis of FSUE NIIR, which will include other subordinate institutions of the ministry engaged in the research and production of electronic equipment. Oleg Ivanov will head this STC.
The successor of Oleg Ivanov in the Ministry of Digital Affairs was Dmitry Kim, on the same day appointed Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Communications.
