2019: Announcement
In December, 2019 Guardian XO exoskeleton developed by Sarcos Robotics company and increasing strength of the person by 20 times was provided.
According to developers, having put on Guardian XO exoskeleton, it is possible to lift a load in 90 kg, feeling loading at the level of 4.5 kg.
The construction including several electric motors fastens to a body by means of belts and a special vest then the robot begins to duplicate actions of the person, repeating movements and considering efforts. Inclusion of Sarcos Guardian XO requires only several seconds.
The exoskeleton supports change of nozzles with extremities depending on a task which the person needs to execute. The battery life of the device is limited two hours. Fast replacement of the accumulator is possible. When in the course of work the battery is discharged, hands of the robot fall smoothly, but is not sharp not to put an injury to the person. Besides, the exoskeleton cannot part a hand more widely, than the human body allows that ensures safety.
The first deliveries of Guardian XO will begin in January, 2020, and the mass release will take place later the same year. The producer is going not to sell an exoskeleton, and to lease it at the price about $100 thousand a year.
Sarcos Robotics says that before the beginning of exploitation of the robot the employee of the company needs to have special professional training.
Sarcos Robotics also said that, in addition to military, several companies, including construction Bechtel, machine-building BMWs and Caterpillar, airline Delta and also industrial General Electric and oilfield service Schlumberger became interested in exoskeletons of the company.
Military are going to use Guardian XO at service and repair of airplanes, loading of arms and also during handling transactions.[1]
