HTC U11+

2017: Announcement

On November 2, 2017 the Taiwanese company of HTC provided the new flagman smartphone — U11+. He received the extended display with a scarcely noticeable framework on each side, a translucent back cover (optionally) through which some components and also a unique system management by compression of the body are noticeable.

"Heart" of the device selects the eight-nuclear Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with clock rate to 2.45 GHz and the graphic Adreno 540 block. Amount of RAM depending on the version is 4 or 6 Gbytes, and the capacity of the built-in drive — 64 or 128 Gbytes. Perhaps connected replaceable memory cards at most on 2 Tbyte.

The 6-inch display is executed on Super LCD 6 technology, has an aspect ratio 18:9 and resolution capability   2880 x 1440 points. The screen is covered with a cover plate of Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The producer notes that the display is calibrated under DCI-P3 color space thanks to what colors promise to be saturated and natural.

The previous model — HTC U11 — has a panel of the smaller size (5.5 inches) and smaller permission (  2560 x 1440 pixels). Capacity of the rechargeable battery grew from 3000 to 3930 mAh.

The main camera remained the same, however it was finished from the program point of view. The camera has a 12-megapixel matrix, f/1.7 diaphragm, the system of optical stabilization of the image, a phase auto focus, double LED flash and functions of record of 4K-video. The front camera with a diaphragm of f/2.0 is created by 8-megapixel.

HTC U11+

The Android operating system 8.0 Oreo with a corporate user cover of HTC Sense U.I and support of voice assistants to Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant is responsible for a program component. Phone is protected from negative impact of moisture and dust according to IP68 standard, and it means that it maintains half-hour immersion on water depth up to 1.5 meters.

The technology of management of lateral faces of Edge Sense became one of features of HTC U11+. Depending on force of compression of a tube it is possible to start the assistant to Amazon Alexa  or  Google Assistant. Developers say that presence of two voice services increases flexibility in work with the device: some prefer to use Alexa of the house, and the Google application — on the way.

The Edge Sense technology was for the first time applied in HTC U11, and in the new smartphone it was updated. Among innovations the following is selected: in Maps Google service compression it is possible to increase the card, and in YouTube — at once to pass into a tape of subscriptions. Besides, HTC announced a possibility of a call of the new pie menu of applications on compression.

HTC U11+

The producer says increase in operating time of the smartphone in browse mode of video and web surfing in LTE networks for four hours in comparison with HTC U11. The accumulator supports fast charging on QuickCharge 3.0 technology.

The physical sizes of a product are equal to 158.5 x 74.9 x 8.5 mm, weight — 188 grams. There are modules of wireless communication 4G of VoLTE, Wi-Fi of 802.11 ac (2.4 and 5 GHz), NFC Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and GLONASS.

  HTC USonic earphones  with active noise reduction are supported. At record by video the sound is recorded by four microphones of the Audio 3D format.

The standard 3.5-mm audioslot is not provided. Earphones can be connected to USB Type-C port. BoomSound loudspeakers became 30% louder, than at HTC U11. Behind the fingerprint scanner was located. The body from glass and metal is available in three flowers: black, silver-blue and Translucent (with a translucent back cover).

The beginning of sales of HTC U11+ in Europe is planned for November 20, 2017. The cost of the smartphone will be 800 euros. There are no data on terms of emergence of a product in Russia at the time of the announcement. The same concerns the Russian price label.
