2017: Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform F800
For March 7, 2017 Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform F800 - a flash array on the platform of the version of the Hitachi DWH operating system developed for a flash systems – Storage Virtualization Operating System (SVOS).
As the company vendor stated, all VSP platforms of series F are created using intellectual a flash modules of Hitachi (FMD). FMD drives function more steadily, than SSD also are capable to reduce unproductive costs of the controller, assuming tasks, work-related a flash modules. They provide high-speed performance to 1.4 million IOPS on the VSP platforms of series F.
The functionality of data compression provided in SVOS allows to scale VSP F800 to 1.4 PBytes of effective capacity. The family of the VSP systems of series F contains a flash arrays of VSP F400, F600 and F1500.
As a part of functionality of Hitachi VSP F800:
- Services of destruction of data for the guaranteed removal from the carrier of all user data for the purpose of security of the company
- Full integration with applications of VMware
- Means of ensuring of continuity of business processes for prevention of interruptions in work with the help of synchronous and asynchronous replication and providing zero indicators of recovery point (RPO) and indicators of the recovery time (RTO), close to zero
- Use of the connected instant pictures for creation of thousands of copies of data sets, they demand almost zero capacity that allows developers to project and test business models quickly
- Dashboard with display of the status for receiving evident idea of storage system capacity.
2016: VSP F1500
On October 26, 2016 the Hitachi Data Systems company offered VSP F1500 market - a system on a basis a flash modules of the high density (FMD).
The product is focused on ensuring consolidation of IT resources of the companies and support of open systems and applications on mainframes.
A system supports physical capacity up to 14 TB, provides high-speed performance> 4.8 million IOPS and the general effective capacity of flash drives to 40 PB. Scaling up to 576 modules FMD is supported, at the same time are used up to 2304 additional cores for data compression execution of operations.
2015: Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform серии F
On November 20, 2015 the Hitachi Data Systems company announced an exit of a line of solutions on a basis a flash technologies.
It allows to bring performance of IT infrastructures to qualitatively new level. Products, completely on a basis a flash memory, hybrid solutions, improved by software for automation of work of IT systems will help customers to accelerate transition to the business infrastructure of the future which is completely based on a flash technologies.
Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform серии F
VSP F400, F600 and F800 models which filled up industry-leading family of the Hitachi VSP platforms combine possibilities of storage systems completely on a basis a flash memory and simplicity of the built-in software. A series of the products VSP F supports up to 1.4 million input-output operations per second (IOPS), meeting requirements even of the most exacting applications. Besides, all products use new FMD DC2 flash modules, providing data compression without loss in the line mode. Similar modules are created for increase in effective capacity of storage and guarantee a delay no more, than on 1 ms even at the maximum scaling.
Module FMD DC2 (2015)
The VSP platforms of series F are the only, according to the company, in the industry failsafe arrays - completely on a basis a flash memory and capable to guarantee to the customer absolute data availability. For a comprehensive protection of data they integrate idle time in use functionality of management of replication and additional support of synchronous and asynchronous replication.
Platforms of series F offer different volumes of tanks of storage: from 12.8 to 448 TB. They have a possibility of close interaction with other products of Hitachi at the expense of the uniform managing software and full-function instruments of automation which are absent in niche products.
Modules of memory Flash Module Drive with a possibility of data compression (FMD DC2)
By means of use of the drives FMD DC2 used at the heart of the VSP platforms of series F, the advanced VSP systems of series G are capable to provide the lowered response time, effective capacity a flash memory and a high investment payback.
The patented construction of Hitachi FMD DC2 uses the high-speed architecture of parallel processing allowing to execute in comparison with standard solid state drives (SSD), five times more input-output operations per second at record and three times - when reading. As a part of the solution the reliable technology of the organization of several queues giving the chance to appoint to input-output operations higher priority, than to background transactions, providing ultralow delays even in the conditions of a high load.
The modules FMD DC2 provide capacity options up to 6.4 TB and a possibility of data compression without loss in the line mode.
Improved by software of Hitachi Automation Director
By means of previously defined templates of services and the automated processes of management of data, Hitachi Automation Director expands possibilities of end users. It, in turn, allows them to execute independent configuring of storage systems on a basis a flash memory to accelerate, simplify and optimize deployment of applications and resources.
Means of Hitachi Data Center Analytics
Hitachi Data Center Analytics – effective and scalable analytical software, costs and to reduce time of deployment of applications allowing the enterprise to lower. This solution allows to make the detailed monitoring of performance and the analysis taking into account scaling. Hitachi Data Center Analytics controls a status of storage systems of Hitachi and other producers for the purpose of identification and elimination of a performance concern in an ecosystem, planning of more effective use of capacity.
