2021: Smart Intersection System Development
On August 2, 2021, the AI company iPavlov announced that it had developed the Smart Intersection system, designed to manage traffic network facilities, organize data collection and transmission, record traffic violations and emergency situations.
According to the company, the key partners of the platform solution "iPavlov Smart City Platform - Smart Crossroads," developed by iPavlov and NIC JSC Schwab"" in MIPT are Holding "Schwabe" and JSC OOMZ SOFTWARE"" (State Corporation Rostec).
The digital design consists of the following modules:
- Data center (complex service - Big data);
- "Smart traffic light";
- Universal road controllers;

- Cooperative intelligent transport system C-ITS.
The platform solution "Smart Intersection" is aimed at monitoring, diagnosing transport networks and creating a city of the future for pedestrians and drivers. The Smart Intersection project involves equipment with adaptive zebra lighting of a pedestrian crossing, which can be synchronized with the resolution signal of a pedestrian traffic light. In terms of the development of which the main partners of the iPavlov are the Schwabe Holding, which includes OJSC PO UOMZ (Rostec State Corporation).
"Smart traffic light" with Plug and Play technology is an integral element of the "smart traffic system." A distinctive feature of the product is the DS-10 infrastructure solution, which allows you to equip the traffic light with modules with a variety of functions, including: environmental sensors, road cameras and various indicators for monitoring the safety of the urban environment.

Intelligent smart intersection systems allow you to transmit a traffic light and other information to an advanced driver assistance system built into the car, ADAS which helps reduce the number of accidents on the roads.
The developers of the iPavlov claim that the average passage time of one of the intersections in Moscow will decrease by 24% in the case of trams. Bus travel time will be reduced by 45%, and pedestrians - by 16%. As of August 2021, on average, one unit of urban transport passes through the intersection in two minutes, and with the introduced solution - at least four.
It is assumed that the customers of the system will be traffic management centers, as well as organizations that perform a similar function. The projected sales volume is 4.93 billion rubles, and the payback period of the project is four years.
According to our calculations, this project costs from 35 million rubles.
