2019: Intel RealSense Tracking Camera T265

On January 24, 2019 the Intel company provided Intel RealSense Tracking Camera T265 – a class of devices for internal and external tracking which will provide to developers a powerful high-performance system for ensuring navigation and orientation in self-contained units. In T265 the patent odometrichesky technology of visual inertial simultaneous localization and mapping (V-SLAM) with peripheral calculation is applied. These devices are irreplaceable for the high-precision solutions requiring the minimum delay time, including robotics, drones, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR).

According to the company, Intel RealSense Tracking Camera T265 is equipped with the processor of machine vision (VPU) of Intel Movidius Myriad 2 which directly is responsible for all data processing, necessary for tracking. It does T265 by the compact, energy efficient solution which can easily be applied by developers in the existing projects or to own patent developments requiring diverse processing of visual data.

Intel RealSense Tracking Camera T265 is suitable for application, in particular, in locations without GPS, for example, in warehouses and in the remote areas where the camera uses a combination of the known and unknown data for exact finding of a destination point. T265 can be also applied in small mobile devices, such as small robots and drones and also together with mobile phones or AR headsets.
