2020: The presentation of the voice assistant for online purchases in grocery stores

On May 14, 2020 the Accenture company announced development of the voice assistant for online purchases in grocery stores. Using the assistant it is possible to select a necessary set of products, to issue delivery, to learn about actions and bonuses.

The voice assistant received a name Ania. In Russia it is one of the first voice assistants for grocery stores.

In development the technology of natural languag processing – NLP (Natural Language Processing) which allows the assistant to perceive voice requests was used and to organize the order of delivery, to check balance of bonuses, to announce stocks of shops. Also the assistant Ania can identify in the speech of the user the indication of delivery date, time, the place, an order amount and many other things.

Development of the voice assistant took month Liquid Studio. The most part of time was required for study of scenarios of user interaction as we wanted to make the assistant "humanized" and clear to the user.

The assistant Ania can select goods directly under the user, taking into account his daily preferences. If on the assistant's question "What products you want to order?", the answer will be read: "To me as usual", Ania will add the goods which are most often purchased by the user to cart. Experience of communication with the real person gives the chance to the voice assistant constantly to study and develop.

For example, if the user orders apples, and in shop their several types, the assistant will try to pick up goods according to preferences of the user. If other goods are necessary for the user, the assistant will offer all available range in shop. Besides, the assistant can remember the previous sessions of communication with users in shop and make recommendations on the basis of statistics of purchases.

Ania can be embedded in the existing mobile application of shop or to download as the independent application on the smartphone.

For the Russian retailers use of virtual assistants – the perspective sales channel. It allows to use the uniform "digital" operator for a large number of users. And also to personalize the relations with buyers, to detail consumer experience and to bring it in the CRM system.
