2021: Creation of infrastructure for collecting medical data in smart operating rooms in Russia

Russia has created an infrastructure for collecting medical data in smart operating rooms, which was announced at the end of November 2021 by the press service of the NTI Platform (National Technology Initiative). We are talking about the project of the St. Petersburg company Medicial Visual Systems.

The company's specialists formed an infrastructure for collecting medical data in smart operating rooms, which will then be used to train neural networks and ensure the operation of decision support systems.

Russia has created an infrastructure for collecting medical data in smart operating rooms

At the next stage, it is planned to post the data and then begin training neural networks. Artificial intelligence will be taught to create a plan for the stages of the operation, control the implementation of the operating room standard, and sound alarms if something goes wrong. The Medical Decision Support System (SPPVR) will be created within the framework of the Smart Operating Rooms project with video surveillance.

By November 2021, there are about 90 smart operating rooms in Russia that work in federal medical centers, city and district hospitals in 15 cities of the country. By the end of 2021, it is planned to equip another 30 operating rooms - at the St. Petersburg Research Institute of Emergency Medicine named after I.I. Dzhanelidze and the Central Hospital for 1.1 thousand beds in Nizhnevartovsk.

In October 2021, Medicial Visual Systems was awarded the status of the National Technology Initiative (NTI) platform project in the Helsnet direction.

2020: Opening of Medical Visual Systems showroom

On December 22, 2020, as part of the new zones of the Center for Innovation and the Internet of Things, Skolkovo opened a show room Medical Visual Systems, demonstrating solutions for oncosurgery. Medical Visual Systems (MVS) announced this on December 28, 2020.

One of the goals of the Center is to unite the efforts medical of the community and local developers, adapt the best world practices to solve urgent problems. Russian health care

In each of the zones of the Center, ideal patient routes are presented taking into account the data of the latest studies, which will allow planning the correct sequence of all stages of treatment for each of the nosologies, from the appearance of the first signs of the disease and early diagnosis, the choice of the correct therapy strategy, to monitoring the course of the disease and dispensary observation.

4 out of 5 new zones in Skolkovo (treatment of chronic heart failure, oncohematology, breast, ovarian and prostate cancer) are devoted to oncological nosologies and contribute to the implementation of the National Cancer Program - 2030.

The MVS demo zone in Skolkovo presents the Smart Operating Room model, the functionality of which allows you to carry out the most complex oncological operations at a high level, preserve and disseminate invaluable experience of operations for other doctors.

First, it is the visualization during the operation of images from all medical video sources on large monitors with high quality and without delay. Monitors can be located in such a way that it is convenient for all members of the operating team.

Secondly, archiving and storing video data received during the operation (up to 4 video sources). Thanks to these functions, the medical organization will maintain a full-fledged video archive of smart search operations, while archiving not only the recording of the operation itself, but also the data of the endoscope camera, patient monitor, images from PACS.

For oncological surgical interventions, such videos are of great value for the entire medical community, since studies show that the favorable outcome of operations is significantly higher if a surgeon specializing in interventions in the framework of narrow oncological nosologies operates and this experience needs to be replicated.

Thirdly, this is the possibility of broadcasting operations to study halls throughout the country, as well as a full-fledged bilateral conference with colleagues from other medical institutions.

Thus, innovative MVS developments contribute to the preservation and dissemination of the best experience in the field of oncosurgery, the needs of which Russia are constantly growing in the population.

One of the key goals of the MVS team is to make treatments available to doctors and patients in all regions of Russia.
