MegaFon Uniform Control Center (UCC)

On May 27, 2015 the MegaFon operator announced project completion on creation of the uniform control center (UCC), in the international terminology - GNOC (Global Network Operations Center).

Feature of the center, according to company management, in the round-the-clock condition monitoring of network of MegaFon in the territory of Russia and control of all equipment:

• voice and package switching,
• transport network,
• service platforms.

Total number of the elements of network controlled by the center exceeds 300 thousand ETsUS left at full capacity in April, 2015 with good result: speed of localization of problems in network increased. Investments into the project exceeded 1 billion rubles.

"MegaFon during the existence built up huge and complex network. Creation of the Center pursues several aims: first, as much as possible to simplify management and monitoring of network, to increase reliability and quality of the provided services. The uniform center is, first of all, a uniform responsibility that will allow us to reduce terms of an output of new services to the market and also to increase operational efficiency", - Valentin Polozenko, the director of ETsUS noted.

The functionality of the center is distributed between two platforms - in St. Petersburg and Samara. Such solution qualitatively increases reliability of ETsUS: in case of unforeseen external factors - natural cataclysms, force majeur and technogenic accidents - transmission time of management of all systems will make about 15 minutes.

Experts of the Center work in the round-the-clock mode according to diagram 24/7. During a day of ETsUS processes more than 13 million messages about network condition, more than 4 thousand incidents are allowed. The center is constructed on the basis of umbrella management systems and monitoring.

In 2017 for the first time in the history of sporting events at stadiums where matches of the Cup of Confederations were played smart home devices were engaged in protection of objects of communication. Server premises and also base stations were in four cities of the Championship (Sochi, Kazan, Moscow and St. Petersburg) under the round-the-clock observation of electronic guards from Life Control.

53 sets of the equipment among which motion sensors, video cameras and sensors of opening of doors were used for protection of objects. Information accumulated the Center of the smart house Life Control and was transferred to the data-center of a system. In case of an emergency situation a system notified the operations duty officer UCC (Uniform Control Center) of MegaFon.
