Life Control is an ecosystem of smart devices which was initially developed by MegaFon with participation of the Italian partner and it was brought to the market in 2016. In 2019 the rights to it at MegaFon were acquired by the developer of solutions for the smart house "Mobile teleport".

2019

$1.5 million investments into development of the platform

The Mobile Teleport company which in February, 2019 purchased from MegaFon of the right to the platform of "smart" devices for Life Control house in May told about investments into the project and its future.

Life Control is a complex of the "smart" devices for the house connected to uniform local command center - to a hub. A system allows to control different aspects of functioning of the equipment in the house - from water leakages to air quality, to ensure safety and to conduct video surveillance.

Its use assumes purchase of "smart" devices by the client and monthly payment for the service which is ensuring functioning of a hub for coordination of operation of all devices and also including technical support. Several tariff plans depending on number of the devices purchased by the client are available. In "A mobile teleport" said that processed earlier existing rates to make service more available.

Including cameras, the company offers service to 2 sensors to clients free of charge. The packet for service up to 5 sensors will cost 290 rubles, and Advanced for 650 rubles will provide infrastructure maintenance from 22 different sensors.

Some smart devices which can be composition

According to representatives "A mobile teleport", from the moment of the redemption of the platform from MegaFon about $1.5 million were invested in its development. The development director "A mobile teleport" Vladimir Grigorchuk says that these funds were raised from a number of private investors whose names are not revealed. Negotiations with a number of investment funds on attraction of further investments are conducted, he added.

The company explained that $1.5 million were invested, in particular, in development of new software, mobile application and updating of a server framework. The updated platform received the name Life Control 2.0 and in May, 2019 became available to clients. One of its key innovations call a possibility of a hub to work without SIM- cards and support at once of several protocols of communication. Also now the hub has functions Wi-Fi router, allowing "distribute" the mobile Internet and the Internet from local provider.

Vladimir Grigorchuk told TAdviser that investments also went for transfer of servers of service completely to Russia: earlier a part of servers was located in Italy, on the platform of the Italian partner together with whom Life Control was developed. Now service is located in the Russian leased data center "Mobile teleport".

Part of means went also for team building of developers for development of the project. Grigorchuk reported to TAdviser that the command from MegaFon which was engaged in Life Control did not pass into their company. After set of developers the state of "A mobile teleport", according to him, makes more than 50 people.

In the coming months developers plan are going to process even more the platform and its interface and to add ability to integrate new devices in Life Control 2.0. Also it is going to open ability to integrate for third-party services and developers.

An opportunity to manage the platform by voice in Russian should become one more new feature. What Russian-speaking voice assistant will be used, in the company did not specify. In their market there is not a lot of, representatives of the company noted during the presentation of Life Control 2.0. Most possibly, it will be Alice.

In "A mobile teleport" expects to implement 5-6 thousand sets of Life Control 2.0 until the end of 2019.

So far clients are provided by individuals. But further the company is going to develop business and in B2B segment with emphasis on small and medium business.

Sale of the platform by MegaFon

In February, 2019 the Mobile Teleport company acquired the rights to a line of the solutions Life Control at MegaFon. Transaction amount of the party is not disclosed.

"Mobile teleport" it was founded in 2017. Initially the company developed own line of solutions for the smart house under the Home Alone brand, but decided to purchase the platform at MegaFon later, the development director "A mobile teleport" Vladimir Grigorchuk explained.

MegaFon could not comment on TAdviser why decided to sell this direction of business.

2016: Release of an ecosystem

On December 27, 2016 the MegaLabs company (Megalabs) announced release of an ecosystem of Life Control.

Life Control (2016)

The Life Control system solves the main range of problems of remote control the house systems and to security of the house or apartment. It includes a number of the sensors ensuring safety and also efficiency of use of electric devices in the house. It is also possible to connect the GPS tracker and a fitness bracelet to a system. Further expansion of the range of available devices and sensors is planned.

"Life Control is an ecosystem of the devices united in several directions:

System management is exercised via the Lifecontrol.ru portal and also through the mobile application installed on the smartphone or the tablet. The user remotely manages a system, independently sets operation parameters of devices and also scenarios of their joint work. Information on important events in real time arrives to the owner in the form of sms, push-notifications or e-mail messages.

Thanking more than to the affordable price and also reliability, convenience of management, an open architecture and a set of scenarios of use, we expect that Life Control will become the reliable assistant for most of residents of the country. Today we bring to the market reliable and useful devices of the direction the Smart House. I am sure that within the next years gadgets from Life Control will become a usual element of a household, also as well as smartphones for the modern person".

In 2017 for the first time in the history of sporting events at stadiums where matches of the Cup of Confederations were played smart home devices were engaged in protection of objects of communication. Server premises and also base stations were in four cities of the Championship (Sochi, Kazan, Moscow and St. Petersburg) under the round-the-clock observation of electronic guards from Life Control.

53 sets of the equipment among which motion sensors, video cameras and sensors of opening of doors were used for protection of objects. Information accumulated the Center of the smart house Life Control and was transferred to the data-center of a system. In case of an emergency situation a system notified the operations duty officer UCC (Uniform Control Center) of MegaFon.
