White Paper: Backup System
2025: ROSA Virtualization Compatibility
STC IT ROSA and MIND Software confirmed the full compatibility of the virtualization platform ROSA Virtualization and the MIND Guard module following the results of the collaboration. Companies using ROSA Virtualization can now build disaster-tolerant and geodistributed infrastructure solutions, and rely on rapid recovery from local or large-scale failures. MIND announced this on January 23, 2025.
Although ROSA Virtualization has built-in high availability technologies that protect enterprise systems from physical node failures and supports replication data between remote sites, MIND Guard will complement its fault tolerance functionality with a number of capabilities. First of all, this is the ability to build hybrid multi-platform solutions, including geographically distributed ones, where the main and backup segments of the infrastructure are deployed on different platforms. As a backup site, you can use both the customer's infrastructure and, public clouds which makes the solution flexible and adaptable to any business requirements.
One of the key features of the module is the ability to adapt RPO (Recovery Point Objective) online to various infrastructure parameters (network, storage performance, etc.): from minimum values for critical and loaded systems (up to 5 seconds) to longer intervals characteristic of geographically spaced segments.
The compatibility of MIND Guard with ROSA Virtualization is an important step towards creating an even more sustainable virtual infrastructure for our users, "said Vyacheslav Kadomsky, Director of Strategic Development at ROSA. - We strive to ensure that companies can restore the operation of their systems with minimal risks and downtime, even with the most complex failures. |
I am sure that users of the ROSA Virtualization platform will appreciate the ease of building distributed fault-tolerant solutions with MIND Guard, "said Anton Gruzdev, CTO of MIND Software. - I want to draw the attention of users to the multi-platform capabilities of MIND Guard, which allow not only to protect systems from failures, but also to significantly reduce risks during the implementation and transition to this virtualization platform. |
2024: Commercial availability of the Mind Guard module
MIND Software on September 2, 2024 announced the commercial availability of the MIND Guard software module. With MIND Guard, you can increase the availability and resiliency of your virtual infrastructure and recover from various types of failures, such as local failures within a site, such as server or DSS failures, and large-scale failures at the data center or region level.
MIND Guard includes an asynchronous replication tool that allows you to create and maintain copies of protected servers, and automation tools for managing recovery scenarios. Using the centralized MIND Guard management console, application owners or infrastructure administrators can configure the protection of one or more physical or virtual machines in a few clicks, and then monitor their health and replication status.
With a built-in engine for running scripts, MIND Guard can automate manual operations at all stages of protection and recovery, as well as integrate with applications and infrastructure services, which minimizes the impact of human factors at the time of an accident and speeds up the implementation of the disaster recovery plan.
The choice of Russian software and hardware for the implementation of such solutions is very limited. As a result, companies have to make various compromises, up to reducing the requirements for the availability and reliability of business applications, - explained Dmitry Gorokhov, Director of the Department of Virtualization and Containerization of Jet Infosystems. - We tested the MIND Guard solution in our Russian solutions laboratory Jet RuLab. I can say that this is a solution in demand in the market that will significantly expand the ability to protect business applications on any virtual infrastructure, |
Unlike backup systems, MIND Guard replicas will do without a complete pre-recovery back to the original storage, and in the event of a failure, the operator can simply run them at the backup capacity, restoring the infrastructure and services to service in just a few minutes.
MIND Guard supports a large list of domestic and foreign operating systems and virtualization platforms, and can be used in various scenarios: to protect services within the customer's infrastructure, in public clouds and in hybrid environments.
All the above capabilities allow MIND Guard to provide high availability for services that do not have their own protection mechanisms, as well as to abandon the use of a dozen different approaches for protecting applications and services that require the participation of a large number of diverse specialists, offering a simple and universal approach for data protection and recovery.
We are constantly working on the development of our product portfolio, responding to customer requests. MIND Guard is a long-awaited solution that will allow our customers and technology partners to ensure fault tolerance of virtual infrastructure, including in hybrid and multi-platform architectural solutions. We are constantly expanding the compatibility matrix of our products, and now we can confirm the compatibility of MIND Guard with the SpaceVM platform, - said Anton Gruzdev, CTO of MIND Software. |
The stable operation of the SpaceVM platform with MIND Guard reflects our approach to the formation of a multi-tender ecosystem of domestic software. We successfully tested both solutions on our booth and confirmed it with a compatibility certificate for SpaceVM and MIND Guard products. Our partnership with MIND Software enables customers to take advantage of the robust tools of both platforms to ensure high data protection and smooth operation of enterprise applications. In the context of modern challenges, this is especially important for ensuring the sustainability and efficiency of business processes, - said Alexey Menzovitny, Product Director of SpaceVM at Dakom M. |
