2025: Announcement of an industrial smartphone on the Russian RED OS M
On January 21, 2025, Mobile Inform Group and Red Software announced the MIG S6 industrial rugged smartphone based on the Russian RED OS M mobile operating system.
The device is available in two versions: standard and explosion-proof. The smartphone has IP68 protection and is capable of operating at temperatures from -20 ° C to + 60 ° C.
The explosion-proof version complies with the TR CU 012/2011 certificate for use in potentially explosive zones of the first and second types for gas media, as well as 21 and 22 types for combustible dust.
The device is equipped with a six-inch IPS-screen with a resolution of 1440x720 pixels and a brightness of 500 nits, an eight-core SDM450 processor with a frequency of 1.8 GHz, RAM up to 4 GB and built-in storage up to 64 GB with support for microSD cards.
The smartphone received a removable frost-resistant 5000 mAh battery with support for QuickCharge 3.0 fast charging, an industrial modem for two SIM cards and a navigation module with support for GPS, GLONASS, Beidou and Galileo. The accuracy of determining coordinates reaches two meters.
Red OS M is entered in the register of domestic software under number 19638 of October 18, 2023 and meets the standards of the Ministry of Digital Development of Russia, the developers emphasize. |
The operating system is based on AOSP and does not contain Google services. Access to applications is provided through the RuStore. In addition to the Mobile Inform Group, the system is installed in its devices by Fplus and Aquarius.
The device is positioned as a solution for import substitution in the oil and gas industry, power, mining, metallurgy and chemical industry. According to Red Software estimates, the potential audience of the operating system could be about 50 million users.[1]
2021: Certification IP68 according to GOST 14254-2015
The MIG S6 industrial smartphone of the Russian manufacturer Mobile Inform Group passed the IP68 test according to GOST 14254-2015. Certification for checking dust and moisture protection was carried out by the testing laboratory of LLC "Center for Research and Testing." The developer announced this on January 14, 2021.
The IP protection test was carried out using specialized equipment and consisted of two parts.
At the first stage of testing, the protection of the smartphone from external solid objects (dustproof) was checked. The device spent 8 hours in a special dust chamber. At the end of the stage, there was no dust deposition inside the MIG S6 smartphone.
At the second stage, the industrial smartphone was immersed in water to a depth of 1.5 m. The device was under water for 30 minutes. After this stage, the water inside the MIG S6 was also absent, the smartphone remained operational.
Thus, the MIG S6 corporate smartphone is suitable for continuous operation in harsh conditions: heavily dusty rooms, outdoor work in any weather, falls into water and dirt. The device is used as a mobile workplace in almost all sectors of the economy: special services, law enforcement and health agencies, transport, power and oil and gas.

Intrinsically Safe Version Certification
The MIG S6 industrial smartphone from the Russian manufacturer Mobile Inform Group has been certified for compliance with the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union on the safety of equipment for operation in explosive atmospheres. The certificate was issued on the basis of tests conducted by PromMashTest LLC. Mobile Inform Group announced this on June 18, 2020.
According to the test results, MIG S6 smartphones are recognized as suitable for use in potentially explosive zone 1 and 2, category IIA, IIB and IIC of temperature class T4, as well as in zones hazardous to ignition of combustible dust of classes 21 and 22 in the environments of subgroups IIIA, IIIB and IIIC.
This means that the MIG S6 industrial smartphone is suitable for use in production premises with a high risk of explosive atmosphere. These are rooms where flammable materials are processed: crude oil and its processed products, alcohols, natural and synthetic technical gases, metal dust, etc. The use of intrinsically safe devices is especially important for enterprises in the petrochemical and oil and gas industries and the extractive industry.
Explosion protection of MIG S6 smartphones is ensured by their design: the devices are equipped with a polycarbonate case protected from opening and a display made of shock-resistant glass with high resistance to scratches and acute contact damage. To prevent a short circuit, a current limiting device with protection tripping is installed on the battery.
The design of smartphones complies with the requirements of TR TS 012/2011, the general requirements according to GOST 31610.0-2014 (IEC 60079-0: 2011), and the type of explosion protection "intrinsically safe electrical circuit" i "according to GOST 31610.11-2014 (IEC 60079-11: 2011)

MIG S6
On January 15, 2020, Mobile Inform Group presented an industry solution for operation in harsh conditions. The MIG S6 secure smartphone is designed for use in industrial enterprises, government organizations and companies with high information security requirements, as well as in the mining, transport and power industries.
According to the company, the MIG S6 was created in the image and likeness of the MIG S55 model, but several key changes were made in its design. The screen diagonal has increased to 6 inches, and the resolution is up to 1440 * 720 pixels. This made it easier to work with large volumes of text and graphic information, in particular, with drawings. Growing to 5000 mAh, the built-in frost-resistant battery capacity and a more powerful, but at the same time, more energy-efficient processor increased battery life and computing capabilities of the device by 30%. The dimensions of the smartphone have changed slightly. Like the previous products of the line, MIG S6 is created within the framework of the general MIG concept - a modular architecture that can be developed in accordance with the customer's needs. In 2020, the operating system of the smartphone will be updated to Android 10, and it is also planned to switch to the domestic operating system Astra Linux.
The smartphone is designed for many years of continuous operation in harsh conditions - frost-resistant batteries and a power management system provide deep minus work, chipsets increase speed and battery life - up to 20 hours when using all communication channels . Wireless charging increases the survivability of the device, and the architecture of the case provides resistance to shocks and falls. The device will be produced at least until 2025 and support Russian operating systems and cybersecurity tools . told Konstantin Mantsvetov, CEO of Mobile Inform Group |
In addition to wireless charging, the MIG S6 is equipped with a fingerprint scanner. If necessary, a barcode scanner and a number of other modules can be installed in the smartphone, expanding the possibilities of its use. Additional options are created to meet the requirements of a particular customer and are connected through a pogo pin. The model has been tested by several key Mobile Inform Group customers, and from January 2020 the MIG S6 will be available on sale.
