2023: Production Launch
In February 2024, it became known about the launch of mass production of silicon capacitors by the Research Institute of Molecular Electronics (NIIME). These devices are designed to use secondary power supplies for communication, navigation and radar equipment modules.
As the Minister of the Government of Moscow, the head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy of the city of Moscow, which is part of the complex of economic policy and property and land relations of the capital, Vladislav Ovchinsky, a resident of the special economic zone "Technopolice Moscow," launched the production of capacitors in the third quarter of 2023. From that moment to February 2024, more than 1 million products were produced.
According to the general director of the company Alexander Kravtsov, the new technology for the manufacture of capacitors made it possible not only to increase their specific capacity, but also significantly increased the reliability of operation, ensuring high temperature stability of parameters and self-recovery after electrical breakdown.
Currently, the company continues to develop technology, improve characteristics and plans to increase production volumes to 1.5 million products per year, he said (quoted by the press service of the SEZ "Technopolice Moscow"). |
A capacitor is an electronic component that stores electric charge and subsequently transmits this energy to other elements of the electrical circuit. The use of a silicon wafer by a resident of the Technopolice Moscow SEZ as the basis for the production of a capacitor made it possible to increase the volume of production of products and, accordingly, reduce their cost for consumers, the SEZ added.
It is noted that in January-September 2023, NIIME created 96 new jobs and invested 34.6 million rubles.[1]
