2019: Testing service of lease of autonomous cars

On October 25, 2019 TAdviser knew that the Japanese corporation Panasonic is going to provide by 2021 service of a Schering of the autopiloted cars. The solution supporting a universal trend Mobilnost-kak-usluga (Mobility as a service, MaaS) can be especially demanded in towns and in limited territories: in theme parks, hotels, exhibition platforms, office complexes, etc.

Testing of autonomous cars

In anticipation of commercial start of a system of Panasonic began its testing in the headquarters in Kadom, Osaka, Japan. Here in the territory apprx. 468,400 sq.m. 14200 people work for October, 2019 in total. Now they will be able to save time and forces on movements between a miscellaneous by the body which were connected by a circular route 2.4 km long. On it with a speed up to 20 km/h self-driving four-seater cars move. They take a cycle on average in 21 minutes. On the working days about 40 ring routes are executed from 9:20 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. The schedule of the movement flexibly adapts to loading – the interval between runs varies from 4 to 10 minutes.

Vehicles were made by the third-party company, however Panasonic equipped them with the sensors, cameras and telecommunication equipment. In the course of testing developers continuously will collect and analyze the data obtained from sensors on cars, information on the number of passengers at different times, etc.

A system uses a high-precision sensing technology of people with elements of deep training thanks to what she will be able to analyze a road situation, avoiding incidents and accidents. The company emphasizes that to manage remote monitoring and the movement the small group of people without serious technical training or special knowledge will be able. For example, for October, 2019 it is representatives of Administrative department of Panasonic.

The corporation expects that the provided service will be especially popular in theme parks or when holding large actions. If necessary it can be customized under needs of the specific region or an object (including, vehicles of other type can be used or the operation method is modified).
