2017: The second generation

For owners of XC90 of the 2016th model year in September, 2017 possible upgrade of a system of semiautonomous management of Pilot Assist to the second generation. It is possible to update a system in salon of any official dealer of Volvo.

The system of semiautonomous management Pilot Assist II was for the first time offered in 2016 on the new sedan of a business class S90. Since 2017 model year of Pilot Assist it is offered already in basic versions of all Volvo models of the 90th series. It became possible thanks to uniform modular architecture of SPA. Now and owners of the Volvo XC90 cars of the 2016th model year for the mezzanine board can update available in their Pilot Assist car to a configuration of the second generation.

The Pilot Assist II system allows the car to move poluavtonomno both in slow city traffic flow, and on high-speed trunks. For the movement in such mode the distinguishable road marking is necessary, but unlike the system of first generation orientation to the ahead vehicle is not required. The system of the second generation is active at speeds up to 130 km/h (first generation – to 50 km/h). Pilot Assist II effectively controls work of an accelerator, brakes and steering. The driver can select the speed, comfortable for himself and enjoy pleasant and safe driving in the mode of semiautonomous management.

For updating of a system clients need to address any official dealer of Volvo. In all Russian service centers of the Swedish car maker already well corresponding software. Estimated cost of updating is 6900 rubley*.
