2018: Plustek SmartOffice PL4080

On June 19, 2018 the company MICS provided to Russia scanner Plustek SmartOffice PL4080. It is idle time in use highly productive (up to 3000 sheets a day) the scanner of A4 format in which uniform body are combined the double-sided lingering scanner of documents, the automatic feeder on 50 sheets and tablet the scanner.

According to information provided by MICS company, the automatic feeder allows to scan documents from two parties with a high speed up to 40 pages / 80 images per minute at once and also long documents and forms to 1270 mm in length. The device is equipped with the improved duplex automatic feeder which works with multipage diverse documents and different document forms.

The built-in tablet allows to scan carefully and safely old documents, without being afraid of their damages and also magazines, booklets, the fastened documents, plastic cards and business cards, noted in the company.

The PL4080 scanner is executed in quite compact body and has one port USB 2.

The model is delivered with a standard software package: DocTWAIN driver, means of configuring of DocAction, means of digitization of the text of ABBYY FineReader 12 Sprint OCR and program of editing images.

The DocAction application allows to configure these "hot" keys on accomplishment of the set transactions. It opens from a system tray, and on a side bar the labels duplicating physical keys on the scanner are placed.

Having selected the necessary button, it is possible to configure a profile (to select the mode – color, black-and-white or from gray gradations, to select the necessary file format and the mode – duplex or simplex). For preserving of the scanned documents it is possible to select the local or network folder, the desirable application, a resource on FTP- server a local e-mail client or to send them to printing at once.

The scanner does not define in the automatic mode where exactly the document therefore the user should specify it obviously is loaded. In settings it is possible to change parameters, including permission (to 600 dpi), brightness and contrast and also options of removal of traces from a puncher, to a scrap on the channel of chromaticity, automatic cutting of the image and correction of a distortion.^[1]
