Rosaccreditation and Roskachestvo have begun assessing online trading platforms according to an updated methodology
Rosaccreditation and Roskachestvo, together with the Center for the Development of Promising Technologies, completed the first stage of evaluating 30 online sites. These are marketplaces, chain retailers, specialized online stores that submitted a voluntary application for research under the Register of Trusted Online Platforms. At the second stage, participants will be checked by a "secret buyer." Rosaccreditation announced this on September 27, 2023.
In 2023, according to preliminary information, only 6 sites can apply for entry into the register as candidates. Wildberries and MegaMarket (formerly SberMegaMarket), which were candidates for inclusion in 2022, will be evaluated along with all connected sites in 2023.
We see that online platforms are striving to get into the register. For them, it is not only a competitive plus, but also an effective tool for checking the compliance of its activities with the law and gaining the confidence of buyers, "said Alexander Solovyov, deputy head of Rosaccreditation. |
The register of trusted sites was launched in 2022 and is designed to identify market leaders who care about consumers and take measures to ensure the safety of purchases.
In 2023, Rosakkreditatsiya and Roskachestvo updated the methodology for assessing trading platforms. To last year's indicators, such as automatic verification of certificates and declarations, work with personal data, openness and availability of information, added requirements for the promotion of Russian products, consumer protection and assessment of the user path by secret buyers, helping to analyze the entire path of ordering on the site. The number of evaluation criteria increased 2.5 times.
As part of the methodology, Rosaccreditation assesses the safety of goods presented at the sites. In 2022, the assessment took place according to the following criteria: connection to the Service's registers, the percentage of meaningful requests from marketplaces, the presence of links to the register in product cards and their display in the mobile version. The updated methodology contains a requirement for a filter for searching for goods with documents on compliance, the sale of certified children's goods, as well as the presence of an information block for consumers and sellers.
In 2023, the assessment focuses on a group of socially significant goods - children's goods. For its part, Rosaccreditation is conducting serious work in this category, and we will be especially careful to see that the cards for children's clothes and toys contain links to certificates, - said Alexander Solovyov. |
The register of trusted online sites helps both buyers and sellers. It gives consumers the opportunity to choose the most customer-oriented sites that check their suppliers, inform about the quality of products and integrate into cards the Russian Quality Mark assigned to high-quality products based on the results of Roskachestvo research, ensure the safety of the process of buying and processing personal data. The register allows business to determine which online sites companies can operate most safely, efficiently and conveniently, - commented Anton Kukanov, deputy head of Roskachestvo. |
For more than 2 years, Rosaccreditation has been actively cooperating with Russian retail and marketplaces connected to the data exchange service with the Service's registers to solve technical issues and monitor the security of sold goods. Among them: Ozon, Wildberries, Metro C&C, Yandex.Market, MegaMarket, Magnit, X5 Group, Merlin, Lethal, DNS, 1C-Soft, AGZRT and many others. For example, the Service recently reported new results of joint work with sites to stop the sale of unsafe car child restraints.
Starting the registry
Roskachestvo and Rosakkreditatsiya launched a register of trusted online sites, which was announced on November 8, 2022. The list, among other companies, includes Ozon and DNS.
At the first stage, the largest universal marketplaces and online stores of the Russian Federation were analyzed - a total of 17 sites. They were evaluated according to a number of criteria, including: safety and quality of goods, informing buyers, manufacturability of sites, security of personal data, openness and availability of information.
By November 8, 2022, three more sites are candidates and are close to obtaining the status of trusted sites: SberMegaMarket, AliExpress and Wildberries. Roskachestvo, Rosaccreditatsiya, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Association of Internet Trade Companies (AKIT) and the largest Marketplaces took part in the development of the study methodology.
State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Viktor Yevtukhov, citing expert data, noted that by November 2022, marketplaces account for about 40% of the total monetary volume of orders on the Internet. More than 70% of small and medium-sized businesses are located at the sites.
"Due to the high popularity of marketplaces, the importance of the recently launched project of Roskachestvo and Rosaccreditation is growing, aimed at improving the mechanisms of interaction with consumers from leading online retail players. I am talking about creating a register of trusted online sites that meet advanced requirements and especially take care of their customers, "he said.
Research and updates of the register of trusted online sites will become an annual practice in the activities of Rosaccreditation and Roskachestvo. Together with repeated studies, it is planned to expand the categories of analyzed online stores, detail and supplement the methodology, covering a larger number of aspects affecting trust, increase passing points for new and already included in the register of sites, added to Roskachestvo.[1]
