For orientation in space, LOONA uses a high-resolution RGB camera and a 3D ToF time-of-flight sensor, which allows the robot to analyze the environment in real time and recognize obstacles.

The design of the Loona was carefully thought out so that the robot evokes the same warmth and affection that can be experienced for the pet.
