2023: Ability to program and control drone prototypes
ROBBO, Russian manufacturer, educational robotics has improved the platform VR for modeling robotic devices Varwin Robotics with grant funds (Russian Information Technology Development Fund RFRIT). Now the product allows you to program and control prototypes drones in virtual space, representatives of ROBBO said on December 22, 2023.
The Varwin robotics virtual reality platform for simulating the company's equipment in three-dimensional space, including ROBBO Platforms and ROBBO Laboratories, was released by ROBBO in 2021. In December 2023, the product's capabilities expanded: users can also create an analogue of another product of the company - ROBBO Quadrocopter.
The platform allows you to design scenes from three or two-dimensional objects and provide them with various properties, such as gravity and inertia. Such objects are ROBBO equipment and environmental elements, such as a school class or a drone training ground. Also, these objects can be programmed using the Blockly visual language, that is, give them commands.
Thus, on the scene created by the user, when the code is played, a virtual object appears, endowed with the properties of its real prototype. The simulation allows schoolchildren to train in virtual reality, and after mastering the simulator, work more successfully with real quadcopters.
"On the platform, children are faced with the task of not only conveying the properties of a specific drone, but also, importantly, programming it. Thus, children do not just control a virtual quadcopter from the keyboard - they program it for automatic work, "said Pavel Frolov, founder and producer of ROBBO. |
The platform significantly expands the capabilities and accessibility distance learning information technology and robotics for children.
"Studying robotics online in virtual reality eliminates the need for parents to purchase equipment. You can remotely engage from anywhere in the world. Thanks to the ROBBO platform, it can offer the market not only equipment for teaching children robotics, but also its virtual models, "added Pavel Frolov. |
