Presented unmanned VRT300

The Russian Helicopters holding (part of the Rostec state corporation) in April 2018 introduced the VRT300 unmanned vehicle with a maximum take-off weight of 300 kg and a target payload of 70 kg. Drones are one of the most promising and fastest growing areas in the aircraft industry. "We have created two prototypes of an unmanned helicopter-type aviation system - VRT300," Andrei "Russian[1], general director of Russian Helicopters, [2] Vedomosti].

"Bench
tests of the VRT300 drone have already begun, by the end of the year it is planned to enter flight design tests. The first experimental device will become a flying laboratory for testing all systems and equipment, including testing interaction with the ground control complex, "said Alexander Okhonko, general director of the BP Technology design bureau
.

In 2019, it is planned to certify the device, and in 2020 - to begin commercial sales.

Price and Customers

"We are already working with many state-owned companies and state corporations. In addition, the VRT300 is created taking into account the requirements of the global civilian drone market, "continues Ohonko. He doesn't say what the sales plan is. But the manager of the Russian aircraft company knows that by 2030-2035. it is planned to sell four hundred cars, they already have about 200 pre-orders.

"In some countries, we are negotiating a joint service provider using our drone," Ohonko described the prospects, but did not name the country.

For the Arctic and Logistics

The VRT300 is developed in two versions:

  • Arctic Arctic Supervision with a side view radar for ice exploration (radar determines ice thickness);
  • Opticvision with extended range for ground monitoring and remote sensing. The main task for the manufacturer Arctic Supervision is to integrate the drone into the transport system of the Northern Sea Route;

the device will be able to be based on ships and drilling platforms.

The Opticvision version can be in the air for up to 5 hours and is designed primarily for diagnostics, prevention and emergency response during hydrocarbon production and transportation. The drone can also be used to diagnose overhead power lines, mapping, cargo transportation, search work, etc.

Development of the VRT500 helicopter

"BP technologies" are engaged in the development of a light single-engine helicopter VRT500 with a take-off weight of 1600 kg, said in 2018 the general director of the design bureau "BP-technology" Alexander Okhonko: strength tests of the helicopter carrier system are underway, aerodynamic tests will begin in the near future. It is planned to create a prototype by the end of 2019. The helicopter will be produced in passenger, multi-purpose, cargo, training, VIP and medical evacuation versions.

The VRT500 will have a cargo and passenger cabin with a capacity of up to 5 people, it will be equipped with a modern avionics complex built on the principle of "glass cabin." The helicopter will reach speeds of up to 230 km/h, fly long-range, take on board up to 750 kg of payload. Okhonko believes that the largest cabin in the class and the attractive price of a future helicopter will allow him to occupy up to 15% of the global market for civilian helicopters weighing up to 2 tons. The company hopes to sell about 700 vehicles by 2030.

Ohonko suggests that 30% of cars will go to the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean, about 15% each - to North America, the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, as well as Russia and the CIS.
