2018: Commencement of mass production
Mikron Group of Companies and Asset, a Russian manufacturer and developer of information security software and hardware, announced on April 11, 2018 the start of production of USB tokens and Rutoken smart cards based on domestic Mikron microcontrollers.
Asset began to implement the project at the end of 2017. The first serial samples of devices that passed internal testing for compliance with consumer characteristics and quality standards adopted at Asset were released in March 2018 at their own production in Moscow.
Devices USB tokens and smart cards with the hardware implementation of Russian cryptographic algorithms use the MIK51SC72D chip, designed to create consumer SCZI and electronic signature tools.
Devices are full functional analogues of intelligent key media and electronic signature tools of the Rutoken EDS 2.0 family. They will be included in the general line of serial solutions Rutoken and will be called:
- Rutoken 2151 smart card;
- USB token Rutoken 2151.
As explained in "Asset," thanks to the compatibility with Rutoken EDS 2.0 in interfaces and functional characteristics, devices of the Rutoken 2151 family will be able to immediately work in information systems where this flagship of the Rutoken line is already used. Support for Rutoken 2151 will quickly appear in the products of an overwhelming number of technology partners of the company.
In devices at the hardware level, GOST cryptographic algorithms are implemented (including 2012):
- electronic signature GOST R 34.10-2001 and GOST R 34.10-2012,
- hashing GOST R 34.11-94 and GOST R 34.11-2012,
- encryption GOST 28147-89,
- mechanisms for generating the session key VKO GUEST R 34.10-2001 (RFC 4357) and VKO GUEST R 34.10-2012 (RFC 7836).
In addition, hardware capabilities include support for Match-on-Card biometric technology, which extends the functionality of Rutoken 2151 smart cards.
Among the customers of SKZI and electronic signature tools with hardware support for Russian cryptographic algorithms based on the domestic chip, developers see organizations for which reliability and a high level of trust in equipment are important. First of all, these are state structures, whose information systems are subject to the most stringent security requirements.
Digital security starts with chips. Together with the Asset, we have created a solution for the security of the digital environment at the hardware level. The use of the first-level domestic microcircuit in Rutoken products ensures the safety of data storage and processing for those areas where it is critically needed, "said Gulnara Khasyanova, Director General of Micron. |
As of April, certification of USB tokens and Rutoken 2151 smart cards is being carried out as electronic signatures and SKZI according to classes KC1, KS2, KS3. Meanwhile, samples for testing and embedding in information systems are already provided to technology partners and enterprise customers.
